Oil for a 76' Cutlass

Does anybody know how many liters of oli a 76 cutlass (455) hold? I do not have a manual and I think the dipstick is aftermarket. Thanks

A RWD 455 oil pan holds five quarts. You can do the metric thing at www.onlineconversion.com.

Of course, if you are concerned about the dipstick marking, simply drain the oil, change the filter, and add five quarts of new oil. Run the engine for a minute or so to fill the filter, then let it sit for about 15 minutes so all the oil drains back into the pan. Now pull the dipstick and scribe a new mark at the oil line. Make the scribe mark on the blank back of the dipstick to avoid any confusion.
