68 Cutlass

What is the difference between a Cutlass and Cutlass S in 68, because looking for parts you can get it for one but not the other?

Base model is the F-85, with mid-level Cutlass S, and upscale Cutlass Supreme, as well as the 442 in 1968

You could only get a convertible in a Cutlass S or 442 trim in 68 and they were very similar. The springs were different depending on engine type, towing package, etc. Get 442 springs they were the same whether convertible or Hardtop. Here's the page out of the assembly manual:

The "S" stands for S. There was no "Sport" model. It's just a name made up by the marketing department. There are no substantive mechanical differences between a Cutlass, Cutlass S, or Cutlass Supreme, just trim and base equipment differences.
