65 front tire sizes, what works?

I have 15x8 225 60 15 all around and they seem too tall. Not interested in low profile. Its a cruiser not pro touring. I just hate hearing the tires rub.

Might go to 14" front wheels if need be.

List your 65 Cutlass front tires and how they work for you, thanks!

The problem is not with your tire height, but with the rim width and offset. I would run a narrower rim and 70 series tire on the front. The smallest 60 series is a 195/60 basically 24.2" tall, but the section width is 7.91" on a 6" rim compared to your 25.6" tall, with a section width of 9" using a 6.5" wide rim (BFG measurement), however with your rim, the sidewalls probably another inch wider.

I would go with a narrower rim up front (7 -7.5) and a smaller 60 series tire, or a 70 series tire the same approximate height as the rears.

The blue 65 is pure sex. That car has taller tires than yours but the right offset to set under the car.

So the new question is..... what she says when you tell her that, lol!

If she's like my wife, it can either be a negative remark, NO! Or something positive, POSITIVELY NO!

I'm a lucky guy, but careful when and what I say. My wife has 2 project cars. A 66 Volvo wagon and a 80 Bertone coupe thats getting a 5.0 Ford.
So I have some leverage

She asked me the other day," whats your plan with the Omega?"
I almost started in on my master plan, 455 swap, weight reduction, paint, etc. etc. much like the kid with the Red Ryder BB gun on a Christmas story when his mom asked "Ralphy what do you want for Christmas?"

I stopped myself and said "Oh I'll probably have to sell it"
Good thing is she likes it. That may work against a Cutlass wheel swap.
(for now!)
