Grandpa's 67 Cutlass- Finally mine.

How cool is this... Dad was finally ready for me to have my grandfathers 67' Cutlass. I've been waiting 24 years- I first drove it when i was 16- he told me then that one day it would be mine. Well the time has come and it's on it's way from Minnesota to Los Angeles so i can start climbing all over it and get it up and running. It has 60k miles- an old decent repaint (in the 90's)- hasn't run since 96'- and has a small bit of rust that i'll have to deal with. It's a 4 door- pretty basic i guess but has tons of nostalgia for me. I'll be needing lot's of advice I'm sure- so glad to have found this site.

Keep getting the automatic reply updates in my in-box, and have one comment...no disrespect intended, but the title of this thread makes me snicker a bit..the evil part of my sense of humor finds something hilariously twisted about the "finally" part. Not sure there is any need to elaborate...?

LOL yeah I chuckled at that as well. Looks like when his grandfather passed away his father got the car and it looks to have been sitting for a while. Now his father finally said he could have the car. Its prob better off rather than sitting and not being enjoyed.

LOL- that's funny. No- nothing sinister meant by that. Just what you said- my dad got it when his dad passed in the late 80's. My dad wanted to see me enjoy it while he's still around rather than have it sit in his garage. It was a touching moment when he handed me the title I got to say.

Congrats, nice car. What's with the "radiator hose" from the pass. side of the air cleaner, some early form of forced air?

Oh sure, I gathered that the car was ahem, passed on, first to the father, and then to the son. (sorry)

Welcome to the site! I'm using a 1967 Cutlass 4 door as my daily driver and regularly get comments on it. Nothing wrong with driving a "more door"

Congrats on your new ride! Now it won't have to hide in a garage for the winter anymore.
