68-72 A - Body Power Trunk Latches

Is it safe to say that an electric power trunk release from any 68-72 A-body will bolt into my 68 Cutlass trunk lid. I know the 68 originally had a vacuum release, but I want to put in an electric. What do you think? I have seen Ebay sellers telling me that a 68 firebird/camero are the same. I really don't think so by the pics. Any thoughts there too. thanks

Adam

It's a possibility, but I'm not familiar with the 68 so I don't know for sure. If you were close to me I'd let you try mine out to see if it fits, but alas you're kinda on the wrong side of the country.

I have put a 70's GM power release into a 64 Chebby with no problem...hardest part is to install the wire!!! those units are usually interchangeable...
