More leg room 73-77 Cutlass 4 Doors/Wagons

It's no secret that despite the huge dimensions of the colonnade cars, the interior room leaves much to be desired... Especially if you are 6'2" tall and rotund.

Just before I took ownership of my 76 Cutlass Wagon I was down the rabbit hole on the web and I thought I saw some tabs that would mount the seats 2" or 3" further back. Now that I have it, I notice that I'd be much more comfortable with that much more legroom and even with the seats all the way back, the rear seat passengers would have plenty of room. I might have to pull it forward to get the 2nd seat down, but I have a pick up to haul plywood, so...

Anybody know where I saw those tabs?

Save your money and make your own. Make them as long as you want. Drill two holes in some plate steel and your good to go.

I found them, $30 a set, and I need 2 sets for flat stock with holes (split bench)... I have a hunk of 4" wide .125" plate, I think I will spend an afternoon instead of $60.

Good plan. A lot easier with the bench. Buckets are whole different ball game.

Plus swivel-buckets suck big time to sit on.

That's some funny sh*t right there. I feel your pain. I'm 6' and my kid is 6'4", neither one of us are svelte . When we get out of a car it looks like the circus just rolled into town.
