Rear seats

Will the rear seats from a 78 cutlass fit in a 77 Cutlass? Thanks for any input

I sincerely doubt it, because '78 was the year they downsized the A-bodies. The '77 and the '78 are two entirely different vehicles.

The 1973-77 cars are about a half a foot wider than the 1978-88 cars. It isn't even close.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it. One question about upholstery for the 73-77 cars, when I see a car with mint seat covers on the front bucket seats, is that a custom upholstery job because I am not finding any seat covers anywhere from any of the vendors including Legendary.

I have a line on a 77 cutlass and want to put buckets and a console in it. I thought maybe if I went to a 79-88 g body bucket seat it would be easier to find covers. Of course I would want the rear seat pattern to match the fronts. What are my options? Thanks again guys. Learning as I go.

Yes they had them made or have Chevelle/Monte Carlo seat covers. I'm having covers made for my 76 442, front swivel buckets and rear bench. I got NOS original material from SMS.

Original Auto Interiors is another place to get correct materials but they did not have what I needed in stock.

Seat covers are available for swivel buckets, not the high back buckets, you can always have covers made though.

This would require the front seat belts to change as well using swivel seats.

Swivels were available 73-76.
