Hello new to the forum from Northern Cal

Hello I just got my dream car a 66 Olds Cutlass Convertible. I found this car in a field on top of a bunch of Sagebrush where it has been sitting since 1981. It was a friends mom's first car she got it in 1972 or 1973 from the original owner parked it in 1981 after someone put motor oil in the master cylinder. lol It has 54,000 on the odometer and she said she got it with 20,000 miles on it. The top and the interior upholstery are shot. BUT complete. The car has power steering brakes power antenna and a tilt steering column. THere is no rust on the floor boards or trunk. I got the engine running last weekend and got the trans to shift. I know this sounds like one of those stories of a friend of a friend found a car. But I actually did. So Im trying to find someone to decode the car as it is all original and complete. Its a bench seat car with a fold down armrest. It was originally white with burgundy interior and a white top. Id like to redo the interior and top in black and do some tasteful upgrades but nothing that cant be put back to stock. Id also like to find out if this car is optioned different than a standard convert for its year. I usually build 66-67 chevelles but am very excited about doing this car. Im looking if anyone has them front fenders and a rear bumper for this car a core bumper is ok as this one is ripped at the bottom. Im located in Susanville Ca. between Reno Nevada and Redding Ca. Great website I look forward to meeting all the knowledgeable people on here. Andy

Welcome Andy. Sounds like a neat find. Being complete is a plus even if it's shot, at least you know what it looks like to replace it and where it goes. Pretty cool options, with tilt and a powerful antenna it definately deserves to be saved.

Welcome to the site Andy. We all have stories of how we found our Oldsmobiles and most of us never get tired of hearing the stories. This is a great place to get help with your restore. Good luck

1966 Convertible

Welcome Andy
I'm up in Medford Oregon and have a 1966 4 door parts car. Do you ever get up this way? I believe the front fenders and hood are nice on this car. John

welcome Andy I was originally looking for a 66/67 Chevelle and opened my search to other A-bodies. As you can see in my sig I ended up was a 66 Cutlass. I still like Chevelles but really like my Cutlass. Check out my build link when you have a chance.

I spent an hour last night checking out your Olds. I like it alot. Im trying to decode my car to see which way I will go with it. I have alot of chevelle stuff that will transfer over. Was in the garage looking around found a set of four speed pedals and thought hmmm better not start cutting it up yet hehe.

What you do is resize the photo using photoshop or what ever software you have. Then upload to a site. I used imageshack.com Go to properties and copy the URL them come here click on the little picture icon with the mountain and past in the box that pops up.

Car looks real solid and complete. Some days I wish mine started looking like that. I could have minitubed and not thought twice about it.
