Where is a place I can get wheel mouldings for a 1982 cutlass? Also is there a place to get a replacement hood ornament for 1982 Cutlass Calais????

 

Ebay is probably the easiest source to check out for both. Gbodyparts.com has some hood ornaments, not sure if they have the Calais specific yet. They did not when I needed one for my 79, but they said they were working on it 2 years ago. I know they have the Olds Rocket at a decent price.

FYI - you will get both good and bad reviews for both of the above vendors. I have bought from both. Ron's is great if he has what you need. If he doesn't, he may never respond. Some complain about prices, but I found them to be reasonable. With out of production, hard to find parts, opinions on price will vary.

 

x2 on the vendors. Also, can you post a closer photo of your hood ornament, I may have the badge portion NOS but just not the base.

 

I believe at the base of your stand up ornament it has an oval shaped base to fit into the bolt on portion. The 78-80's were square. Also, the 1982 Calais ornament is slightly larger than the 78-80 version. If yours is so on both counts, I have 2 of these NOS. As mentioned though, I have the red ornament piece only.

 

Ebay has one. 150 bucks. Free ship plus any taxes. Never seen one as cheap for over 25 years now.
Buy it fast or someone else will. Wrong part number listed (probably why it's still around), but it is correct for your 82.

Nice find! Hard as hell to find, and x2 on the price, it's the real deal. Mine are incorrect for your car as they are red. Way to go 69HO43!

 

I just need the top calais hood ornament , as the pic above. I also am curious about repairing it as the loop on it broke.

 

Is your top Calais ornament red or black, it's hard to tell from the photo. I'm with 69HO43 in that the correct color for your hood ornament should be black. But if you want a red one, I have a couple, nos. I believe this stuff is pot metal so once it breaks, that's about it for the piece.

 

Actually, BlueCalais79, your red ones would do the trick. The black ones were actually later one. I'm recalling my dad's 84 Calais (came with an aluminum hood of all things) and I do recall it had the black sail panel emblems and the black hood ornament.

81-82 should have had red. 83-84 got black. Sorry, got them backwards.

 

I have a black one from a 1979 HO

 

Problem is, the earlier ones have the square bottom on the emblem and won't fit the later bases properly. 81-up uses a smaller and different emblem base on the hood ornament.

The Olds Nationals will be in Springfield, Missouri next week 7/23 to 7/27. I will be bringing my 1994 Aqua/Teal (sort of green) Cutlass Supreme.

Also, I'll throw in a really nice small red Calais sail panel emblem in with the sale if you want it, to replace the one pictured above.
