What goes here??

Hey guys,

There was nothing here when I got my car. Is there supposed to be a molding bolted to these screw holes?? This is the gap between the trunk and the back window.

There is a four piece set of stainless steel trim pieces that go completely around the rear window. The two upper ones are curved and run from the bottom corners of the window up over the top and down the other side, with a joint at the top center. These are retained with trim clips that snap over "nail head" posts in the pinchweld area. The other two pieces are wider and straight, covering the bottom edge of the window. The two bottom trim pieces fit over the bottom ends of the top trim pieces in the lower corners of the window and are retained with phillips head screws.

Thanks, guys. I knew the upper moldings were there , I removed them to take the window out. Does anyone reproduce this lower piece or pieces?

I'm not aware of any repros. The trim is the same on every 1968-1972 2dr Sport Coupe and Holiday Coupe made (xx77 and xx87 body codes). Good used should be easy to find, especially since they are stainless and don't rust.

Let me know if the lower doesn't fit and rubs on the trunk. So dry fit it before you paint unless its too late. The fix is better performed before paint but can be done after.
