Separated at Birth?
Went to a show today, and got into a conversation with the owner of my car's twin. Went back to my house for a photo shoot. Unfortunately not many of the shots came out very well. Here is one, with some others on my web page at http://www.HurtsOlds.com

The cars were optioned pretty similarly. The differences are his car (the closer one in the picture) had AM FM and the rear power antenna. He had the standard wheel without tilt, and mine has tilt with wood wheel.
Also, he has the stainless trim around the windows, and no body side molding (may have had it at one time). Mine does not have the window trim, but does have the side moldings.
Now, some things that confuse both of us....
On the firewall, I have a cylindrical canister, almost like a soup can, for the vacuum, whereas he has the ball shaped canister. Also, his vacuum line has a tee in it, and the other side of the tee goes to another canister buried in the dirver's side fender.
The only thing I can think of that might account for the difference is the fact that my car was sold in California, and might be equipped differently either based on the California destination, or it may have been assembled on a different line, or ????? His car has been a NY car as far back as he can tell, but who knows after 40 years.
Note that his VIN is either much later or much earlier than mine (I don't recall, but my point is that there is a substantial gap between the numbers).
Both cars have AC. Neither have any equipment that might account for the extra vacuum canister, that I am aware of.

Is this second canister under the fender still near (or on) the firewall?
If I recall my 68s correctly, when you had A/C and the vacuum trunk release, they added the second canister. Are both shapes plastic? The breakdown of tanks and options (with proper hose routing) is spelled out pretty well in the build book and maybe in the chassis manual (I don't have the manual any more).
In 69, there was the possibility of an even bigger, metal one under the driver fender on the front of the wheel well for vacuum door locks.
