Replace Front Springs?

I am planning to replace my front power drums with a factory disk setup, and replace all the front bushings while I am at it. My bushings are coming apart, and the car rides rough. How can I tell if my springs are also in need of replacement? Height appears fine. I am assuming the bushings are the cause of the rough ride, but since I will be all apart, it would be simple to just install new springs if that is also part of the problem. My car is a 350 with A/C and pretty close to stock.

For the amount of work being done may as well replace the springs while they are out.

If you do replace the front springs, the nose will ride high giving you an excuse to install new springs in the rear... you KNOW when you do that the rear bushings will need replacing... Just saying... inspect the springs when you pull them... I had a broken coil (about 1/3 of the last coil on the bottom end) when I did mine. Did not know it until I had it all apart. The new bushings will make it drive SO MUCH better!

If your height is fine, no need to replace the springs. Bushings, ball joints, shocks, and sway bar links is all you may need to replace.

Replacing Coil Springs

Usually, coil spring inspection can be done by the naked eye... if it looks to you that you like the height, then leave it alone, it is good....
If it looks to you that is sagging or too low, then replace them....

If you are going to do ball joints, bushings, etc. and your money is in good shape, then you might want to do NEW Front & Rear Coil Springs just be-cause you are there..... it is a once - for - life ordeal......

If you are not well off financially and the springs look okay -- then do just
what you NEED to do, and that's all.............

I carry everything in stock -- in both TOP of the Line Brands, and the
"Economy" version.... if you would like, call me --
