Quarter window weatherstrip replacement

The vertical quarter window weatherstripping on my 2 door 72 cutlass needs replacing (the piece between front and rear side window). Is the rubber piece supposed to come out with the chrome piece staying on the window?
Thanks in advance.

OK, it took some tugging, but it came out the bottom.
I guess it doesn't help that it's below freezing in the garage.

Use some soap, etc to help get the new one slid back into place...take it easy and make sure the chrome channel is clean inside.
