Have a 1977 Cutlass S 'OLE Need help finding more info on this car. Came across some info years ago but can no longer find documentation on the 'OLE package. Thanks!

That's not an Olds 'package'. It's likely a dealership promo that added some specialized self adhesive badges to the car. Post a picture.

Here in Dallas they were called "Bold Olds". Had a stainless band over the top and landau type decorations.

What we're dealing with here is the Y76 option with a twist by local dealers. Here's a few of the same concepts that dealers used to promo the cars and move them off the lot - unfortunately this type of promotion is not well known by other than some of us geezers who recognize it for what it is. IIRC this has also been discussed before when a member thought he had a very rare 76/76 Cutlass because of that badging. In reality it is a bit of a regional time capsule but not special to Oldsmobile.

Thanks Alan, I found the info again last night after I posted. What value do you think this option adds?

I know it's not completely rare, however it is somewhat unique and from what I understand was roughly 25% of the total build#.

Thanks!

In all honesty, not much. The Y76 will add something - eg: If a stock Cutlass Supreme was valued at 8000, the Y76 might bring it to around 8400. But that's all hypothetical. I'm using a benchmark average of what a 1977 Cutlass Supreme would bring in decent condition - with a 350 engine and AC. The more options and care of the car will obviously increase its value to possible as high as 10.5+ K IMO
