Numbers Matching
Numbers Matching
I'm going to sell my 72 Cutlass Supreme and I have no idea if it has numbers matching engine or transmission. My question is: does it really matter for setting the value?
I know it does on Chevelles, Corvettes and Camaros but since my Cutlass isn't a 442 or W-30 does it really matter?
If so, where is the partial VIN stamp on the engine block?

That's because vast majority of muscle Chevrolets, for whatever reason, do not have the driveline they were built with.
That's also why I stay away from them, because you always have to deal with and correct every previous owner's cobbled up mess and "personalization".
