Newb from MN. 1980 cutlass supreme
Hi, I recently just bought a 1980 cutlass supreme, this isnt an ordinary cutlass though its got a suprise under the hood . A 1968 455 delta 88 engine under it. Here is a little list of what the PO did to it so far.
455 ci mated to a 350 turbo trans and he included an extra 400 turbo tranny.
Fully rebuilt cylinder heads w/receipts, new valves, springs, rockers, lifters.
New timing chain and gears.
Edelbrock performer camshaft matched to performer intake and new 750 cfm Edelbrock carb.
Hooker super comp headers, double hump crossmember, True dual 2 1/2 inch exhaust w/turbo mufflers.
New shocks, coil-overs in front, air-adjustable in rear.
New front Cooper tires, rally wheels.
This is a Nebraska car, never seen a Minnesota winter, 95% rust free. Some rust under rear quarter windows and a small bit in LR quarter panel.
All underside, jams, rear bumper solid with factory undercoating.
Original paint.
What I want to do to it, is make it a street/strip car. Right now I have planned for it is putting a shift kit and stall converter in the turbo 400 and putting that in, then changing the gearing in the front and rear diff and a limited slip in the rear, then I am going to probably put a little higher comp pistons in it, not so high that I cant run pump gas though. Any other suggestions would be great, this is the first time Ive owned anything this powerful haha.

Yea, I dont even know how he fit the damn engine in this thing, the headers go around the frame haha. The only problem Ive had so far is on the drivers side of the engine the headers are rubbing against something and one of the pipes is slightly dented in. And the rings are startin to get worn so it burns a tad bit of oil. And then one of the rockers may be goin bad, cause there is a ticking noise at 1500 rpms and above.
