New Purchase 70 Cutlass S

Here is my new purchase. 1970 Cutlass S. Original red car. buckets console, Sport mirrors, 350 is matching, has a knock - Sounds like a wrist pin to me (high in the motor) Will take the motor out this week.

Car has some rust issues in the rear qtrs - check out the body work forum for some of the pics and tell me what you would do with them.

Needs a passenger side door and a trunk lid.

Neat car - Had one of these way back when I was in HS. That one was in worse shape than this one

Nice car!
RR quarter panel might be worse that you think. It probably is going to need part of the wheel liner and trunk repaired too. Fortunately, you can get trunk metal pretty easy, and there are patches for the lower quarter.

What's wrong with the passenger door? Looks good in the pic but then it's just the outside. Are the pinch welds and creases all rusted out? If you need a replacement, you can shop ebay, or look in the parts for sale in this site.

Trunk lid? Again, probably the hidden rust issues. Looks like the trunk reveal stainless is missing. Easy to find new replacement though. Trunk deck (new replacement) will run around $350.00

This car has those coveted 1 year only sport mirrors. Cool!!

Take more pics and put them up so we can see the b4 and after as you progress through your new adventure.

Car has some nice things on it! The interior is perfect other than Seat covers! The mirrors are a huge bonus! Bucket car. Has a nice sounding flowmaster exhaust on it. The engine compartment is all original and all the wires ect..... are there and in the right spots. Will have a lot of cash in body work! Deciding if I should get it running well and off it???????? or ......... do what I really want to do with it! Tough decision.

I am currently doing a vista cruiser - check out the pics and post in the the vista section " prepping for paint! Have to do the interior of that beast before I really get into this thing.

Thanks for the reply. Will try and get more pics up soon

Doug
