Good ventilation is the key, the best way to keep a building cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter is a roof vent fan and proper venting in the gable ends or overhangs, lots of roof vents at the least.
Absolutely! A full ridge vent with ample soffit vents usually works quite well.

It has a funtional cupola and vented soffits. I'm a little put out that on the nights I have time to work out there it's usually 10-15 degrees and the little kerosene heater can't keep it warm enough to stay out for too long. My son's activities keep most of the nights busy.
