Cool! A Rob Schneider movie. The closest my car ever came to being famous was in an A&W commercial with the Root Bear.

You mean the shifter handle? I am pretty sure they can be put back on somehow. Hopefully someone with a floor shifter will chime in soon.
After your next post (5th) you should be able to post your pictures, which will help us out more.
If you still cannot post, email to ry_ry75081 AT yahoo.com and I will post 'em for ya.

Yes the two speed automatic transmission topped with the T handle shifter. I have everything , all the books from the glove box, for the convertible top, build sheet, and a big repair and accessories book. Everything that came with the car new, I got when I bought it off the set. The movie was based on the girls gone wild videos, if you google "Virgin on Bourbon Street" "American Virgin" Rob Schneider for more movie information.

By the way the car is a 1964 Cutlass F-85 Convertible. Just repainted it a nice burgundy, It has the console, tac, two speed automatic. Everything works. I reupholstered the interior. Going to rebuild trans/motor this winter.
I had hard top two door back in 1978. A heavy equip operator crushed it in a snow storm. About 32 inches of snow , he never saw it just crushed it with a 2 story tall front end loader.

Those T handle have some fragile parts. I hope they didn't break it when they removed it I've had several and they all had broken parts. I'll see if I can come up with any photographs. John

We look forward to seeing pics. Rob Schneider is a good actor (for adult comedy). I like his cameo apperances in the recent movie Bedtime Stories.

That's how I keep the convertible top operational!

Heres the webpage where I rebuilt it. Lots of pics.
There are pictures of the Shifter handle in my My Powerblock Groups.

Can you glue it with a 2 part epoxy?

Snowdog might have a good idea. 2 part epoxy can be pretty strong stuff. Plus, if it is applied meticulously you can barely tell the part was borken in the first place.

Thanks for posting the link to the trailer! You must be so excited (other than the resulting broken T handle). I know how excited I was just to see my car twice in the background of the Flash of Genius movie that it was in. How cool for another 64 owner! Congrats.

Picked up the movie at Walmart last week. If you like a lot of T & A pick it up and have a look. There are two versions, There is a R rated version, and a directors cut unrated version. I haven't found that one yet.

This is probably way to elementary, but are you sure the small set screw at the base of the "T" didn't come loose and fall out? Mine gets loose from time to time, but has never come all the way off, so I am not sure if that is all that holds the "T" on the shaft or not. Just thought I would mention it since nobody has yet. Good luck with it.

It is cool to have your car in a movie. Mine was in Girl, Interrupted with Winnona Ryder, Angelina Jolie and Whoopie Goldberg. Had the best lunch that day of filming on the set. Went to the food trailer and ordered myself a free steak!
