Missing INNER tail light lens ?? Anyone??

I know some of you have parts cars, so I'm feeling out the field here.
I looked on www.thepartsplaceinc.com since they are the #1 supplier
and they don't sell these lenses without buying the entire assembly.
http://www.thepartsplaceinc.com/ocat...&YearList=1970

I need another one of these inner lenses that pop out.
Anyone have one sitting around in good condition I can get ya to ship me for a small fee ??
(Yes I know I need new gaskets too, I'm picking those up)

I've got one. Send me a pm with your address and I'll send one your way for shipping plus a couple bucks for gas to the post office. John

Yes, I've been to Tamraz also because they are in Plainfield only 45 mins South of me.
I got most of my 442 interior parts and upholstery FROM Tamraz, as well as my gas
tank for my 78 Camaro years ago.

The Parts Place is just 35 mins SW of me. I only recently started going there because
I found out Tamraz orders from them also.

I only said they are the #1 supplier because they say that on their site.
I owe them no loyalties, trust me. They hoard gauges like you wouldn't believe.....

Thanks , that's a new one I never knew about.

I know about Fusick and The Paddock also, just was touching base
with members whom I know have parts laying around.

Wow, does Tamraz order stuff from the parts place thats out of stock, or does the parts place STOCK Tamraz? I would think they have a working relationship because I see a fair bit of difference in thier product list.

I also heard from a very good source that Fusick is also supplied by Tamraz.

I think there are suppliers all over that work with everyone.

Then there are some suppliers that only work with certain places.
That's where Fusick, Tamraz, Parts Place all get from each other I'm sure.

I know the Wood Grain with metal backing trim Tamraz gets from Parts Place.
I just went over this with them a month or 2 ago. Reproduction gauges all
come from Parts Place exclusively, and the others resell it also.

Parts Place has repop'd alot of things on their own, and other guys are distributing it.

Fusick's hood lock latch kit has "the parts place" stamped on it - go figure...
That did explain the "modify to fit" ordeal I had with it...

What year did you pull the one off you sent to me ???
It doesn't fit.

Mine are rounded and wider.
The one you sent was too narrow, flat, and too long.
Go figure....lol I'm going to break out the dremel and see
if I can make it work.

I wouldn't replace those gaskets if they're still soft and pliable. Just clean them up. I bought repro gaskets for the front and rear of my 72. They were junk. So I cleaned my old ones and reinstalled them. If you by any chance find a supplier that uses the same gasket material and pattern, let me know please. The ones you have in the pic acutally look pretty darn good.

BTW, there were 3 different styles of tailight in 1970. Don't know if that means the inner lenses were changed slightly to make that work, but I doubt it. I know that on my 72, there are different size upper and lower lenses. Check yours to see if this applies. Kinda curious to hear the reply. I have extras for 71 and 72, but they won't fit your car.

Well.... shoot, I thought I sent one from a 1970 lens. I guess I could have goofed and sent one from a 1971-72. I'll dig in the garage and see what I come up with. John

Yep, you did. It's not a big deal, you tried. If you got it though, let me know.
I'll pay for the shipping.

This is what you sent me. Notice the lines go Vertical on these and they are more flat.

This is what I needed. Notice , the lines are going side to side here and they are more concave shaped

I didn't look close at your photo. The one you're showing here is for sure the 71/72 upper inner lense. It would be better to just wait and see if John has one for 1970. This one is not going to look quite right even if you dummy it down.
