Upon purchase of the the 68 Cutlass the previous owner was pointing out that he had replaced the headliner. I noticed that there was no dome light in the car. When I asked him about it he said, "I have a new one I just couldn't bring myself to cut the liner to put it in."

I must admit that there is a serious "pucker factor" I find myself in when thinking about putting the exacto through the material.

I have found the wire and the cross bar where the light should mount but I would like to ask for some help with a picture and a measurement from the side of the liner to the light (Edge or center I don't care,just specify). Any help you guys can provide would be appreciated.

He also did not cut in the shoulder belt mounts but I think I can find those easy enough.
