Yes, but this varied year-by-year. The original question was about a 1972 car.

You might want to read the original post again Joe. The post was about a 71.
And the comments I made were simply that, comments. I went to quite a bit of trouble to post those pictures so that the original poster, and anyone else that was interested, could see for themselves what(in 1970) the differences were between the models to give a general idea of the differences.

Interesting reading, maybe the different codes suggest the difference between a cutlass and a cutlass ht was they would use one code for the post car and one for the hardtop (no post) it is also interesting to see the difference in body styles between the cutlass and cutlass supreme?

quite informative...
