Cutlass automatic gear "lags"

hey

so I was driving around the other day and suddenly the car could not change its gear and it just sounded "harsh" whenever I pressed the pedal

This only happens when I have it in "D" - it works fine in Reverse, 2nd and 1st gear.

lol i dont know what "harsh" means, but if its been awhile since you have changed your tranny filter and fluid, that would be a good idea to start with. and if that doesnt fix it, it could be a bad synchro in 3rd gear. dont know for sure, you should definently try your best to not drive it while its acting up though, because doing that can make a 5 dollar problem turn into a 500 dollar problem. good luck

I do have a problem explaining a problem in English

The workshop changed fluid and filter 2 months ago. The car's been running like a rocket since. Then suddenly it stumbles. The workshop adjusted the gearwire and it worked like a charm for 3 days. Then suddenly the trouble started again. Only this time, it comes and goes ! Feels like the trouble starts when I've driven a bit and the car is hot.....

3rd gear is slipping. Get ready for a complete trans rebuild most likely.
