71 hood on a 70 convert?

Hey all,
I have a 70 cutlass convert that has a plain jane hood. I was wondering if the 71 sport hood will fit without changing anything else ( like the grill ).

Also, has anyone tried the reproduction fenders? Do they fit well?

Thanks
Marc

1970 hoods DO NOT interchange with 71-72. The 70 hood is straight across the at the top of the grilles. The 71-72 hoods have cutouts at the leading edge since the grilles are taller and go up into the hood. The core support is similarly different. If you want to run a 71-72 hood, you need to change everthing from the core support forward (grilles, bumper, headlight mounts) to 71-72.

A 70 hood WILL fit on a 69 if you change the latch mechanism.

I cam pretty sure that a 70 Cutlass hood will not work with a 71-72, and vice versa...the 70 hood is relatively flat across whereas the 71-72 hoods flare up slightly on either side of the center tongue. This results in incompatiblity with the grill and front bumper in fit and appearance.
