Question Convt same as hardtop door?

I'm looking for a pass side door for my 65 conv and wondered if you guys know if the hardtop door is the same? I realize the glass may be different or whatnot, but my door skin is whacked and I just need a straight one.

Thanks

I am assuming it is a cutlass? if so the Hollander book says that a 64-65 2 dr hardtop and convertible interchange the door less glass and vent frame. doesnt say what is different on the glass and vent window frame. hope that helps.

Cool, thanks. Hopefully the assembly manual will give me an idea on how to switch out the glass and mechanicals

On a '68 convert the vent frame has an extra channel for the weather strip to seal on...other than that it is interchangeable with the hardtop...

swapping the vent frame and glass is pretty easy and straight forward. if you have a service manual it will show how. if not I would recommend finding one for it if you plan on working on it. makes life lots easier.

This "Assembly Manual" doesn't have squat in it. I'll have to get a service manual. Which one? Are you guys talking about the red book with the rocket emblem on the front?

Would you believe I don't have a '65 Fisher Body Manual...sooo in the '66 Body by Fisher manual (blue cover) it has illustrations and complete breakdown of the hardware inside your door...pg 273 Whatever you do- do not remove the power window motor from the regulator--without locking it down with a nut and bolt...the coil spring is very powerfull...
