I have a line on the car. Fuel tank got sugared. Been parked since for 10 years but I believe now it's operational.
Body is super rust free and has 15 inch Rallys. Black with red velour interior and of course - T tops.
Ball park value in say average to above average condition?

Not sure if this helps, but I had a Black '77 with T-Tops. Purchased for $2500 and sold for $3500 - but had some cancer issues in rockers and around vinyl top. Ran great, great interior, 20-footer for looks, and t-tops leaked like a sieve. And the rust which included bubbling all around the vinyl, and full rust through anywhere from pinhole to half dollar sizes in rockers both sides.

Guy who bought it advertised it after fixing rust issues for $9000 for at least 6 months on craigslist - don't see it anymore, so not sure what he got I would guess he got less then full price but who knows. This was all in the last couple years or so.

Here is a recent sold listing for a very nice low mileage '77 (black/red minus t-tops) on ebay for $7800

So, I would say market price is somewhere $5K to 7K for average to above average low mileage car. T-tops are not all that common, so even though they are a liability still probably add to value. Great cruising cars - hope it works out and you get a great deal as well!

hard to tell..ive seem them all over the place..not many people like the disco era cars now..id look on ebay and view the completed auctions etc..its a start..

when i was a kid a junior or senior..the hottest cars as far as someone wanting them..where 76-77 442s...red and blue seemed to be popular..overnight they where all over the school parking lot..

 

I got my '77 cutlass for $3,000. Good condition, rust free, paint in good shape, interior also in good shape, 45k on the odometer. A good range would be from $3k-$7,500. I wouldn't pay more than $8,500 for a cutlass if it's not show-room quality.

I took some pics tonight. Needs a good cleaning but looks pretty good. The car is literally next door. That's my house with the beautiful GMC and the '77 is under the car cover.

 

Was that car in an accident at some point because those are 76 grills.

 

Something is fishy.....it also has a 1976 speedometer. In 1977 they went to an 85 MPH speedo.

 

Are the passenger side vents round or rectangular?

 

the left dash piece has a clock, where in 77 it'd be above the glove box.

 

Notice the tow hitch on it. Make sure you double check the condition of the transmission. The TH350 wasn't a dog like other transmissions but towing can be hard for a vehicle if it isn't a Ford truck.

FWIW, I think it is a decently straight Cutlass. Maybe you could offer around $3500?

I guess it's a '76 then - it was just my lack of knowledge of the colonnade cars. The owner doesn't have a clue. Anyway I bought it for $700 regardless. Even if the the fuel system is buggered I figure I'm ahead of the game. Perhaps a big block...

It's a 77. All the A/C vents are square. They were round in 76. but there are a few odd things I noticed. Is there a clock above the glove box? also a clock on the left dash panel? I think the speedo is reading in KPH in white numbers and MPH in smaller blue numbers. Correct for a Canadian car.

 

Nope, look at the tail light. The 76 tail lights had a straight line going to the olds logo and the 77 had the olds logo enclosed in a rectangle. I know this because my car has both tail lights

Definitely a '76, the people who commented earlier are right about the 110MPH speedo and the grilles

 

Another easy way to tell a '76 is looking at the Oldsmobile logo in the grille. pre-77 have a cursive print.

 

Interesting, on my 76 ( Its S if that makes the difference to Supreme) i have different looking Odsmobile logo at my grille.

For A/C vents, the two vents driver have are rectangular, and two wents for passenger are then round. Thats on my car. And my 76 has also that same speedo.

 

Loosely following this thread. I noticed the LH and RH taillights do not match. Interesting Cutlass.

 

You guys do know that there are two cars in this thread....right?

The first one is a 1977. That is obvious by the dashboard and the grills.





The second is a 1976, again the grills tell the tale here as well as the speedometer and the round vents on the passenger side of the dash.
