48 A refers to roof/body color. In this case white top, sequoia green body
6A - build code date A(first week) of 6 (June) 1972. This would be close to the end of the 72 production run

Definitely. Check the Assembly Manual for the year.
I also have a number of resource books including the SPECS and Dealer Ordering Guide. They give that info too, but you have to know where to look it up. It's easy after a while.
