68 Cutlass rear side marker lights.

I purchased a set of rear side marker lights for a 1968 Cutlass Supreme. Trying to fit them on the car, the bezels and housings are perfectly flat as opposed to a curve that fits the body. Are there different marker lights for different models? Or are they supposed to be flat?

A 'B' body is a large car, such as a Delta or 98. Then there is Toro. '68 Cutlass marker lights have a left and right whereas '69 both sides are the same.

Which always puzzled me why Olds did this. Isn't the contours of the '68 and '69 rear quarters the same? If so, was it a cost cutting measure to use the same marker light housing on both sides for '69 instead of having unique L/R housings like in '68? I encountered this back in the '80s when I pulled a rear marker off a '69 in a boneyard only to discover it didn't have a fore/aft assemetrical shape like what my '68 had.

Thanks for the explanation. When I bought these markers, the ad said they were from an Oldsmobile. Wish I knew to ask if it was from an A body. I am wondering also what the difference is between the 68 and 69? Are they interchangeable?

I think there is a subtle difference
between the 68-69 A body as well.
Not sure what it might be though.

I may have a nice set, I could check
if you like. Could be 68, could be 69.
If there even is a difference...

there is definitely a difference and is somewhat subtle.
68's have same chrome surface area top and bottom;69's do not
