I just realized you're the same one on you tube that asked about my 350. You just missed it. I ended up damn near giving it away with the transmission. What kind of advice are you looking for?

$750 seems a bit high for a "pig in a poke" (an engine that you have no way of testing until you install it). I bought one for $50 a few months ago that was a completely unknown quantity, but that, after disassembling it, I could see would have run fine.

I'd say just keep your eyes open and something will come up, but in your area I know that the engines tend to wear out before the cars disintegrate, so you may need to find something from a rustier part of the country and have it shipped.

Get it checked by a local machine shop. If it's got no cracks, go ahead and rebuild. The heads are the only real difference between what you have and an earlier rocket motor. You may want to find a set of 64-72 heads. They will be better than what you currently have.

The best place is right here, post in parts wanted for #5, 6, 7, or 7a 350 heads. Craigslist is also a good place to look. I got lucky. When I posted my head gasket issue (the one that started my foray int 350 cylinder heads) I got several offers from members here. I checked them out, and made a selection that I am very happy with.
