1972 model, the service manual indicates all 3 bolt holes should be utilized to mount these brackets. Per the attached photo, there are holes in place for the center and right mounting hole but not the left. And only 2 bolts were supplied with each bracket.
1. should I drill a hole for the left (inner) mounting point and secure that also?
2. is the rubber hood bumper on the left in the photo supposed to stay in it’s original location or is that possibly supposed to be moved to the center mounting spot on the bracket and that is why they only send 2 bolts with each bracket?
3. does that original rubber hood bumper stay in place or get removed completely with the OAI?
Leave your hood bumpers where they are....that is the correct location for '72 - even with the OAI hood (and maybe 71...don't know for sure). The kit you bought "assumes" you have a '70 car (or more likely, they are too cheap to include extra bolts/nuts).
Maybe someone with a '72 Assembly Manual can post of pic of the appropriate page which will show what is done with each hole on the brackets.
