1972 Cutlass Supreme fuel sending unit

Looking for some knowledgeable input- getting the fuel sending unit replaced- my shop says the current one has two lines but everything I've read says the correct unit should have a single line, including Fusick. I want to make sure i buy the correct part. Anyone know the definitive answer (I'm inclined to trust Fusick).

Someone can chime in if I'm wrong here, But its my understanding that it depends on how many lines you have on your fuel pump. If you only have two lines then you need the single port sender.
If you have three lines at the fuel pump then you need the two port sender as the third line is a return circuit.

This isn't rocket science. If the old sender has two lines, get a new one that does. Be SURE the shop has actually dropped the tank and looked at the sender. There should be THREE hard lines on the frame rail - a main line to the pump, a return line from the pump, and a vent line to the charcoal canister. The latter does not connect to the sending unit.
