1972 Cutlass Supreme clicking sound from engine?
Hi people!
I have a 1972 Cutlass Supreme with 32K miles on it. (According to original owner, this car was storage for at least a decade).
I got this car about 6 months ago. Car runs good but I don't like the clicking/ticking sound the car makes. I would assume this sound is not normal, but then again I have never owned a classic car. Sound normal?
The sound, from what I hear it from, is coming from the right side of the engine (from front view). When I turn it on, immediately the sound *click click click click*, it's a constant sound. When I rev up, so does the sound.
I have checked the oil engine level, good, the timing belt looks good too.
What is it? I don't know a whole lot about classic cars.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks!

Welcome to the site. The noise could be a number of things like valve train, accessory drive issues, leaking exhaust manifold, etc... Take the belts off and run it to see if the noise goes away, if it doesn't then listen closely to see if you can narrow it down to a specific area.
