1970 W31 Cutlass clone winter project is done

I just finished freshening up a really nice driver that I bought last year. The motor had a bad camshaft and numerous things needed repaired or replaced. The 350 was rebuilt with Edelbrock Performer Rpm aluminum heads, RPM intake, Comp Cams hyd roller cam, roller rockers, Hei ignition, Doug Thorley headers, quadrajet carb, aluminum water pump, and an aluminum radiator. I also swapped out the Muncie M21 for a new Muncie Supercase wide ratio 4 speed trans to go with the 3.42 posi rear. Should be a really fun driver.

Great looking car. What all did you do installing the e-Brock heads? Cool build

Oh yah

Looks great! x2 on the heads. What did you do for a fuel pump?

Both heads had to be cut. The passenger side head was notched for a stock fuel pump. The driver's side head had to be notched also for the power steering.

Man that engine bay is sanitary! Great choice of internal goodies and heads. One thing, I've experienced and read many issues with those chrome thermostat inlets that are thin walled junk that fail and leak. Maybe you found a good one but keep an eye on that thing.

It was a last minute part, since my original aluminum one had a split in it. The water outlet and the chrome valve covers have been a pain to keep from leaking. I would like to get another aluminum water outlet and some tall aluminum valve covers. Nice 67. I used to have an Autumn bronze 66 that was close to that color.

Wow!!!!

Great job! I wish I had the talent to rebuild my engine to look like that. Enjoy cruising in that ride!

Sounds like you knew the (Asian) Outlet can be a bugger. I found an alloy water neck at NAPA but it has a solid down-neck pipe instead of the curved hose. Love to feel the power your getting out of that naughty mill!

Thanks on the color compliment. Mine is "Gasser-gold" heavy flake like a 70's dune buggy. Really crazy but I like it.

This is my buddies and it's a really nice car. I'm responsible for him buying it,I knew where it was and turned him onto it. If I hadn't been knee deep in my resto project,I would have bought it. He doesn't spare any expense and will go to whatever length it takes for it to be right. It will take a special BBO to run with this car and maybe he will post the dyno #'s.

Or just a 66 w30. Mike. That's about all. Them high winding 400 trip deuces and a 4.33 out back and he ain't a chance. Lol. Just making jokes. Ur car is gorgeous. Love the Ed heads.
