1964 cutlass f5 air cleaner needed 4 barrell

Need an olds aircleaner for this car, has aftermarket on it. Does anybody know of other years that are interchangeable? It has the 330 engine with a Holley on it. Not sure if the mounting of aircleaner is different than the stock carb. The aircleaner mount to the carb I should say. Any idea can I use 442 or later tornado dual snorkle ones on it? Sorry for all the questions but I don't know how flexible it is or is not to interchange aircleaners on the olds.

unsure about 64... Is this the same?

I don't have the base, just the top lid.

You could run it with an aftermarket base, would give you the look but allow more airflow up into the aircleaner.

I'd let it go for $25+ship.

The stock air cleaner will NOT fit a Holley, which is why your car has an aftermarket air cleaner. The stock 4GC used a smaller air horn than the 5 1/4" on all modern 4bbls (including Qjets). Your options are to keep the aftermarket unit, use a 1966-later Olds air cleaner, or get a correct 64 air cleaner and modify the base by cutting out the existing ring for the carb and welding in the larger ring from a newer air cleaner.

So any 1966 or later? I have my eye on a dual snorkle 66-67 tornado one that might look trick.

The only problem you will have is that the Olds air cleaners (and especially the low profile Toro air cleaner) are not designed to clear the Holley float bowls. You will likely need to either clearance the underside of the air cleaner with judicious use of a ball peen hammer or you will need to use a spacer between the carb and air cleaner. Hint: check junkyards for full size Chevy pickups with TBI - these have a very nice air cleaner spacer ring.

Thanks again!

Sounds good but TBI? I may have a hood clearance problem. It has a higher than stock edebrock intake so I am near the hood now. May need to trim the top of the threads when wing nut screws on as my hood won't close all the way and it may be because the intake has that carb sitting higher. May need to adjust the hinges too but there is a hole in the pad under the hood but no dimple in the hood itself from the threads coming out the top of the carb. I'll probably have to ball peen it.

Do you thnk the toro one is lower profile than a stock cutlass one? If so itmay allow me to cut more off those threads and clearance that hood a bit more.
