70 442 Rear W30 Coil Spring Height
Now that I'm off the Newbie forum....
I'll ask the question here.
I've struggled with rear coils, the OEM pair was perfect (picture attached black, first restoration). My dad replaced these with aftermarket and they sit about 2" too high (in my opinion). Picture of the car Yellow is how it is now (maybe 1/2 inch lower with the ESPO CC509 springs I just put in). I want the look of the other car pictures attached.
Eaton suggested these (MC 1233 STD springs OR MC 1305 (1/2 inch lower than the 1233's). I've messaged several, all with great cars.
I'd like this car to sit lower.
Any help from you Olds fans is appreciated, spring used and pictures.
I'm to the point of getting a 1" dropped spring (Global West GLS S 62).
Thanks... Eaton is giving me good advice, try them and if they do not fit, try another....
Thornton has also struggled with this, and gave me some great advice.
I'm too picky and just know the look I want.
Would consider a used OEM pair if someone is selling.
Thank you,
Mark

I went with the heavy duty eaton springs 1 inch lower than stock. Do a search I have some shots of my car from the side.
It is very difficult to tell what is what as they list different springs for W30s yet there really is no difference in the back weight and then there is no listing for a W30 with AC (at least there wasn't when I was looking). So I just went with what Eaton recommended for the 442 with AC and had them send me 1 inch lower in back 1.5 inch lower in front. I went with HD in back in case I carry people in a parade the back end doesn't drag.

If you are talking me I went with the EATON Detroit Spring MC1305 springs, that's this picture... most like the back up higher, I like this, it's pretty much stock from what I remember.

I have MOOG in my HO, they sit too high in the front, that'll be next.
Good luck
