It's called the carrying height and what it should be and where to measure it is in the Oldsmobile chassis service manual.

level ground, fill gas tank, empty trunk , check tire pressure, seat rearward, door closed. At about 1/2" from front of the rocker panel (not fender) 9-1/2 . In the rear about 1 inch in front of the wheel well opening 9-5/16 with a 1/2 to 1 inch tolerance 3/4 from side to side

Yes, if your wanting to keep your ride height stock go after the stock replacement springs. I use the Chassis Service Manual like a Bible when I tinker with my cars. If you don't have one I'd strongly encourage you to pick one up. They're on ebay all the time, here's an example of one:
