From To
Rich,
I am not upset with you for that reason. As stated previously I took exception to you and others speaking on my behalf. You don't represent my position and I will speak for myself when needed. I also don't agree with personal attacks launched by you and others against Pat Yancey, Gene Crowdis and Ed Konsmo. As stated previously I am not sticking up for them. After being a victim of personal attacks I will not endorse the same tactics against anyone. If you and others want to criticize them fine, but stick to the facts and do it in a constructive nature. If you and other members are dissatisfied (as I am) with the behavior and voting records of this board then present the facts for debate.
As you suggested I read your OCA corruption thread on Classic Olds. Your facts are inaccurate.
Steve Mestad the OCA vice president did resign. He shared some of the same frustrations as I did with the board environment we operated under.
The larger issue that effects all OCA members is what I characterized as the Good Old Boys club in my 4.71 motion to remove the treasurer in December 2012.
Recently the board voted down a motion to perform an audit.
Only 6 Board members voted no and blocked this from passing;
Treasurer Gene Crowdis (Texas)
Director Rick Winn (Texas)
Director Stewart Stevenson (Texas)
Director Pat Higgins (Florida)
Director Ken Williams (Florida)
Head judge Ed Konsmo (Washington)

In addition the board voted to keep Gene Crowdis and Pat Yancey's name on the $247,000 certificate of deposit instead of another elected OCA official as required by the OCA policy manual.
Again only the same 6 Board members voted no and blocked this from passing;
Treasurer Gene Crowdis (Texas)
Director Rick Winn (Texas)
Director Stewart Stevenson (Texas)
Director Pat Higgins (Florida)
Director Ken Williams (Florida)
Head judge Ed Konsmo (Washington)

Is this what the OCA members wanted? So the question that you and others need to debate is do these 6 individuals vote for the best interest of the OCA or do they vote for personal agendas and allegiance to life long friends?
If you and others do not like their voting records I submit that you run against them or vote them out of office.

Best regards,
David Consoli

I confirmed this per conversation with Steve himself this morning, It is upsetting to me that he was made to feel that he could do no good with the current board in place and that it was just a waste of time trying to help better the OCA.
My hat is off to both Steve Mestad and David Consoli for the work they have done on several projects and for their dedication to the OCA and its Membership, Thank You gentleman for your service and direction.
Currently the board is split and certain people are running rampant, it is for this reason that I have decided to run for Zone Director and will appreciate any Support I can get from the members in my Zone.
My love of oldsmobiles and the friends that I have made through the OCA will keep my mind clear and will help me in my decisions to try to do whatever I can do to help get the OCA back on its feet.
Warren Hughes and Terry Olsen are two great guys that have done a fine Job serving on the OCA board, but I have heard that both of them may have had enough of the current drama and possibly will not be running again, we need some fresh blood (young)on the OCA Board with new outlooks and concerns, It is time to clean house, who else amongst you will stand up now and offer your time and services for the OCA that you love and enjoy?
Our goal will be to help the OCA get through this bad time and help weed out the Individuals who are not helping the OCA with their current actions, lets do this together by either running for a position or by voting in the right people for the Job.

Dan, I have watched your posts and I think you would do a great job as a zone director. I am in the Eastern Great Lakes zone and cannot vote for you, but I would be happy to promote your candidacy.

It was very upsetting to me to see that they have basically run Steve off. I have had quite a few dealings with Steve throughout the years and I have always been impressed by his interest in doing what is best for OCA. He will be missed.

Thanks,
