Can anyone explain this??
Can anyone explain this??
It’s the middle of September, Hobby Lobby has the Christmas stuff out. As bad as that is, it’s already 50% off!! It’s been a long time since I have been in there, but if it’s already on sale 3 months ahead of the event, I’m wondering if it was out for July 4th holiday! Of course, by that logic, the July 4th stuff was on clearance for Valentine’s Day!!

Some holidays are monetized, others are not. Thanksgiving is kind of a dud. Most places go, Spring/Easter, then Independence Day, then Halloween, then Christmas. Hobby Lobby might skip Halloween or play it down due to religion.
Greed.
The Home Deep Hole had holloween crap out the end of July.
Corporate greed to keep the garbage machine churning out the garbage to keep the investors happy.
I've turned my head 180° on the retail market, local, national news and local TV & radio. I cannot stomach the advertising.
I pay for streaming services to avoid the advertising. I don't want to see or hear it.
I hate when the weather people and retailers say back to school, summers over, get ready for fall, roll up the sidewalks and its August 1st.
Then directly behind it is holiday season brain wash.
Our family no longer exchanges gifts. We gather for the company food and drink. No one gets up from the Thanksgiving table to hit black Friday...stupidest idea ever! Plus nobody can afford the overpriced chineasuim.
Blood pressure has come down significantly taking the bobble heads out of my life. Homie don't got not time for dat!

BUT no complaining, no more retail advertising, no huge natural disasters, plenty of H2O. Just be nice to get 2-3 more months of summer.
I have several friends in Pheonix. They say the AC on the car doesn't work after 105-110° But I still plan to retire somewhere warn n dry... Flag Staff, Fort Valley, Timberline...
Nah, the AC works fine in 115+ heat. When I leave work in the afternoon, the AC is blowing cold by the time I'm a block or two down the road. It can start blowing a bit warmer (50+) while idling waiting at traffic lights, but I have manual transmission vehicles so raise the RPM to 1200 or so and that keeps the vent temperature in the mid 40s.
When hobby lobby first opened, it was an actual hobby and craft store. Now it’s nothing but overpriced home decorating crap.
which brings up another rant: why do businesses get away from what made them in the first place?! Remember when MTV had Music TeleVision?? That lasted a few years, then reality tv and sitcoms started playing all the time . Or the history channel actually discussing history, the downfall started with Duck Dynasty and pawn stars. Radio shack? I remember going there once for an actual electronic component, the clearl had no clue what I was talking about, but ended the conversation with “can I interest you in a cell phone??”
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
