Tool ID help

So I rent a garage from someone. He passed. I am helping his wife. Anyone here know what this tool is? I am stumped. Heavy as heck. Probably five six inches in diameter. Two spots to put the pins in. The pins are various sizes on the left. I have zero clue what this is. He wasn't a car guy so I doubt it is car related.

Anyone?

My guess is it's a damifino. I'm a true tool junkie and I haven't seen anything automotive like that. You say he wasn't a car guy. Any ideas what hobbies he might have been into?

Not really so much. He was probably close to seventy. He wasn't active. He really didn't seem to have many hobbies. A friend of mine said it looked a little the tool they have at their shop to cut rotors. He wondered if it is some kind of lathe tool. I could almost see that but the pin positions at twelve and three o'clock only makes me not think so. After my friend brought up cutting rotors with a sort of similar tool. I wondered if maybe it could possibly be for that purpose for possibly a semi? I am stumped. I have seen and been around a boat load of tools. Never seen anything like it. Like I said these are heavy. The kit probably weighs sixty pounds or more.

This is the tool my friend brought up.

This looks like a common 3 jaw chuck.

You are saying that last picture is? Or are you talking about the tool that I was asking about?

Exactly. No markings anywhere. Not one. No numbers. Nothing. It must be worth a good piece of change judging by the quality of the tool. The case has a name and number but they are just a manufacturer of cases.

Can you put one of them together with the pin and post a pic so we have a better idea?

That's my plan is to go get better pictures and measurements. She has a lot going on since he passed. I have been busy as well helping my Dad out. I will get better pictures.

Home shop machinist

It might also be worth posting a thread at the home shop machinist and the garage journal websites might find additional buyers as well if it’s 5/6 inches it’s a lot larger than say the mini lathe I have and it doesn’t appear that it has threads so must have a Morse taper ?

3jaw chuck

Just agreeing with iwhat was said before it’s a three jaw chuck for a lathe . The question is for what it fits to determine value I have a smaller version the t handled tool goes into the side of the chuck and tightens or loosens the jaws
