For our S Texas peeps, Harvey

With the oncoming weather that will be caused by hurricane Harvey, be safe and stay dry. Lets hope for minimal damage.

I heard about the storm heading that way up here in Canada, it has to be a bad one hearing about it prior to the aftermath.
I hate hearing about storms of that magnitude threatening populated communities.
I hope everyone in and around the area stays safe, if you can leave the area, stay with family friends or other members please do.
Wishing you all the best!!

Eric

Im a good 4-5 hours from the gulf but we had 60mph winds from hurricane Ike in 08? It split a big tree right down the middle on my property. Im going Saturday up to Lubbock so ill miss the rain here but probably drive through it on my way back.

I think the biggest problem will be all the rain and flooding.

Its 350 miles wide, and may become a cat 4 before landfall. Its also going to hang around the coast for 4-5+ days. This one is going to be painful.

It's the lead story on UK news channels today.
Seems Corpus Christie and Rockport is taking a beating.
Here's hoping the best for those caught up in it.

Roger.

Hurricanes are nothing to mess with. In 1969 Cammile hit Biloxi Mississippi as a cat 5. I had the mid watch at NAS Willow Grove PA that night. Every hour the duty observer had to post the local weather on the teletype. The hour before Cammile made landfall, the duty observer at Biloxi posted the wind speed at 178 gusts and 165 sustained. The next hour he posted no wind speed because his anemometer had blown away.
