Why You Don't Ship Open In Winter

I negotiated the price of this car to include shipping. Little did I know he would ship open trailer. Here's the result. The car is almost finished now. Thank goodness. What a mess!

Something we should always think of. It makes sense that the vendor would ship using the lowest cost method.
So check and see how your purchase will be shipped, it may be worth paying extra for enclosed trailer transport.

Roger.

Rock chips in the windshield is another reason to avoid open trailers.

Open trailer shipping...time of year and departure/destination points are everything. NYC to Minneapolis on sloppy, salt slush roads would be a long term nightmare. Rust never sleeps.

Man you better get into every crevasse with the garden hose. Residue salt will pop up everywhere once it dries out. Rinse and repeat many times to include the cowl/firewall area. Use a detergent too. There is salt neutralizers on the market made for this if your more **** than I. Once she is dried out Id hit the inners, seams and under carriage nooks/crannies with LPS3 to prevent further rust. Nice car. Did you bitch at the seller just to say thanks AH! Dad had a Deluxe 66. Plum on black cloth. Its what started the obsession.

The seller and I had a nice conversation. Yes, nice. That Toro was completely disassembled and reassembled so I think we got the salt, etc. I just had a Caddy shipped from Fla in an enclosed trailer. The guy had the car detailed before it went in. The goofs got it up to me near Chicago and their truck broke down. They made the last 30 miles or so of the journey with an open trailer. It had snowed the night before. The car was covered with salt/ice. Still working on that one.
