I restored a 1967 Impala SS. Orig 12 bolt, orig glass, HO 350, TH400, power windows, 2dr hardtop, A/C car. I put on new paint, new interior, and had it running real nice. Very comfortable to drive and got a lot of looks.

If I got it back I would put my HO LS1 in it (CnCd 241 heads to Weiand intake, N2O Daves 85mm N2O plate, 85mm Throttle body, roller rockers, flattops, torquerV2 cam) and have some fun. Very nice driver IMO.

I know its still in town but haven't seen it for quite some time.

Mine would be a 1974 Pontiac Grand Am that I bought new in 1974. Back then, the Grand Am was supposed to be the new GTO, but they didn't do it, and for 74, the new GTO was built on the Ventura platform. It wasn't as powerful as the 69 GTO I traded, but it was one of the first American cars that came standard with radial tires. You can't believe the difference that made to the way the car drove, cornered and road. And, it had a styled urathane front bumper, when all the other cars had what looked like a chromed 4 X 4 log bolted to the front (the first of the 5mph bumpers) Mine was Admiralty Blue(dark metalic) with the burgandy interior and special ordered white seats and hioneycomb wheels. I had one beautuful red, white and blue car for the bicentenial!

72 Cutlass that I had in college so 20 years later I bought a 72 Cutlass Conv that I still have. Love the looks and the rocket motor.

But the biggest regrets are the cars my father owned and sold 55 T-bird, 57 T-bird, 63 Coverette, 67 Cougar w/ a 427. I was only 3 when he bought the last one. Would have loved to had one of them. My uncle owns a 1966 Jag XKE Convertible that he is the only owner of so there is still hope.

There are several I would like to have back -

1969 Plymouth Roadrunner 440 6 - Was a great car, bought it off my dad for 500 in 1990 and then sold it in 1995 for 3k, - car was flawless. Just didn't think it was worth much.
1985 Mustang GT 5.0 M engine (302 4brl, roller cam) Car was fast as hell. Sold it to by an engagement ring, big mistake.
1967 Chevy II - great car, lots of fun it its back seat. Too many tickets!!!!
1978 C10 - nothing about that truck was still original other than the sheet metal. Had a 502 in it and it screamed. Never lost a stop light race in it. Sold it to get something more practical for hauling around some kids.

my car iwish i still had was a 1975 cutlass s i sold it cuz i was young an dumb an broke. I miss it so bad cuz i was born in 1975,but know i have a 4dr 1971 culass i ve had it 13yrs its one my kids all done up on 24 inch rims im fina get the biggest sunroof they make.

It wasn't mine, but my older brother bought a factory official '63 Starfire Coupe in the saddle mist with white interior and a special ordered 3.90:1 eaton posi. Car had only 3200 mi on it when he bought it on Feb. 3-64. It was a spaceship on wheels, a stunning car that grabbed everyones attention. Only car in his class that he lost to was a '64 GrandPrix with the 421 tri-power HO and that was just by a fender.

That Starfire has led me on an endless chase of cars and parts over the years and years. Nothing but '63 Starfire and/or, Ninety Eights for me, save a couple of '66 Starfires, and a '62 Jetfire. Wow, then there is that awesome white '66 W-30 convertible I always dreamed of finding and stuffing it with a built 425, tri-power, 4.11 posi and Muncie 4spd...............There I go again, dreaming!

Also my parents black 1987 Buick Regal T-Type. It did not have the WE4 option, but it did have the turbo 245 hp SFI , 3.8 V-6.
It did not have power seats, nor posi rear end.

I've still got my first car. Had the yellow one for 21yrs...but it's aged to the point that's its a parts car now. My next car will be garaged and will avoid water/snow.

Not my first car, but had an 84 Rabbit back in university (around 2003). I couldn't find decent work one summer and decided to put a turbo in the 1.7L engine. I had no money and did a lot of parts digging in the bone yard. Found a VW ignition with knock sensing timing advance control, a garett turbocharger from a 4 cyl Renault, an exhaust header I had to hack at and weld in an adapter plate for the turbo... and a bunch of misc. hoses/piping for the intake, etc. Managed to git 'r done for about $400 and wow it was fast. Loved it when the turbo kicked in and pushed you back into the driver's seat.

That car put a few people to shame. I remember this guy in his Maxima kept looking at me with his jaw dropped cause he couldn't understand why he couldn't overtake a little rabbit.

Good memories. I had to sell it later cause I moved and had nowhere to park it. Would be fun to drive that one again.

I began with a 1967 chevy malibu SS convert. I think it was the only reason I had a date for the senior prom. Then a 1972 T 38 lemans that could blow off any trans am at the time.
Got married had kids and the dream cars were few and far!!!!!Wow I am now watching a 68 chevy malibu on Barrett Jackson going for 51K IF I ONLY KNEW!!!!!!
Now I am turning a 64 88 into a classic.

1969 convertible mustang paid 75 dollars and an 8 track for it. 351 cleveland dual exhaust. I also had a 69 hard top at the same time was going to get the convertible going from the 2 cars. Had them stored at grammas place and when i returned in the summer they were gone. She had sold both cars for 50 bucks and thought she got a bargain. I was so upset she bought me used Toyota corolla. had a lot of fun in that yota

In terms of rare it would be a 1969 Hurst Olds I owned but sold due to marriage, kids, and all that responsible stuff lol. The most fun car was a 1969 442 4speed rebuilt by Huffaker Racing. Quick as lightning.

My 1st car was a 65 Cutlass, 2nd was a 66 Cutlass, both were 2 door hardtops with 330, jetaway, buckets and column shift. They were both very used cars, (bought the 66 for $50.00). But the 1st car I got that I really wish I hadn't sold was a 65 Starfire w/ factory 4 speed. That car was something, It drove like a luxury car but it was fast- had huge torque. It too was a very used car. I bought it for $125 and the clutch slipped. Drove it until the clutch went out completely and sold it for $125. Wish I could have kept it but went in to the Navy. After out of the service I bought a 73 Omega that I put a 1969 Toronado 455 engine in. It was built mostly with junkyard parts. A budget build, but drove great. Fast!! Another car I would like to have back was a 68 Road Runner 383 4speed bought in 1983 for $500. I did a amateur "restoration" on it and sold it for $1800.00 in about 1987. That car was in my wedding. Another car I wish I hadn't sold believe it or not, was a 1965 Dodge Coronet 4 door with a slant 6. I used that one as a daily summer driver between 2000 and 2005. I was a old car the but very dependable and fun.

70 Cutlass-first car i bought ,body shop quoted $2500 to completely redo it ,ended up selling it cuz i couldn't afford to do it ,sold it to a guy I worked with .
67 Chevy ii-6cyl with headers,Clifford Cam and 600 holley,sounded like a giant bumblebee
87 IROC with 350 Vette motor ,bought brand new ,was quick but payments where huge!
Life seems to get in the way of enjoying this hobby fully ,but can't complain I have most everything else I need ,good wife ,healthy kids ,house and a job!

67 Chevelle 2 dr HT 300hp 327 PG that I bought used at the Buick dealer for $900 with 45'000 miles in 1974. I fell asleep one night after a long hard night at the drive in with my girlfriend and totally destroyed it and damned near killed myself and it was also on my 17th birthday.
I'd still own that car if that hadn't happened.

1967 Lincoln continental convertible, black on black suicide doors. Bought it of my neighbor when I was 19. Had to sell when I my son was born to put deposit and first month rent. Buddy of mine bought it and said If I ever sell it I'll let you know. About a year later I see somebody driving it.

59 bug Eye Sprite, fun car economical to run and the only British made car that didn't fall a part on me. Traded it in on a brand new 67 MG midget that had something wrong with it everyday. I wonder if I could get in and out of that little bugger now.....Tedd

Especially the red one... the Nova was the best I built, but was a bit of a pain on the road because of the use of a built 454 mounted with motor plates, an 8 point cage and seriously tight suspension. The red 66 coupe had a 430 hp 383 and a 4 speed, and was a great road car. The LT-1 was a 1 owner 40k car with original paint and interior that we did a body off frame and drivetrain restoration. Both the 'vettes won best of show at the Chevy Vette Fest in the 90's.

I'd love to know where they are today...

The next car, though, was the '64 F85? Cutlass? depending on which fender you believe. 330-4bbl, some good gearing, Jetaway hit 2nd at 60 mph... handled great. power bucket seat, no console. Sold to boneyard after engine died. "A lot of rust" I told myself. Now driving rustier older pcs of crap. :-(

Never got it painted but the 330 was a great engine. Learned not to confuse cam bank angles on that one. I actually still have that engine, tucked away in the garage. And the 4.10 posi 10-bolt. Put an NOS 3.08 12-bolt in the car and a generic 350 to sell it. Swapped back to auto trans also. Had a 403 in it for a while there. Almost sold it for $250 with 330, Muncie, and posi, but the buyer, who wanted a father/son project, started bitching about how "every panel needs body work" - never mind the ZERO RUST and 330/muncie/posi drivetrain. My answer was, that's cool, never mind, it's now NOT FOR SALE. Thanks for your interest; please shop elsewhere.

The parts car for the Evil Cutlass- 4dr with perfect front end, which was cut into an El-Camino-ish thing. Brake issues led to its demise when a Datsun turned left in front of me, then stopped, completely blocking all escape. I drove home but his car died that day.

Ah, the '81 Virago... engine # 442, believe it or not. Had to leave it in CA. Bought it at $800, sold it a couple yrs later for $1000, could not stand it, bought it back for $1000, then left it in CA when moving... could not afford to go back to get it of course, so it sold- believe it or not again- back to the guy I bought it from, for the same $800. Almost bought another one this year here. Car troubles ate up the fundage.

76 Pontiac 4dr pc of crap, original engine cracked the flexplate in half. Replaced with Olds motor. That's the one that generated the story of how sometimes you NEEEEEED that starter motor support strap = GROUND STRAP.

80's Jeep Wagoner? Ran fine most days. Hot days with a hot engine, though, pressing the gas pedal got you absolutely NO response from the engine. Bought, and sold, in November. :-) Different years

1983 Chev Monte Carlo w/400 SB, 350 turbo tranny w/shift kit. Sold it to buy a washer & dryer just after getting married (first time).
1974 VW Bug w/1600cc 4 cyl. Learned to drive stick in that car, & then learned how to "drift" in the winter time. It was great taking the engine out, 15 minutes, 4 bolts 3 wires, lift the rear end up 4 feet & it was out.

The 64 Coupe DeVille is one of my favorite classics. I think it is the most beautiful of all the Caddys. My dad had a convertible before I was born (a 62 a well). Don't those all have the 429 motor though?

in it and we did the swap.

The car that I wish that I had back was my 1st car. It was a '69 El Camino SS with the 396. My Dad and I spent about a year restoring it. I handled the body and paint work, he did the engine. We both redid the interior.

Years ago I had a Wolseley 18/85, I loved its comfy seats, powerful engine and great handling. Then I sold it.
Fast forward 15 years and I saw my old car at a classic show, must have heaps of money and time poured into it as it was in much better shape than when I sold it. So I introduced myself to the owner and we talked about the car and what I knew of its history. Anyway he let me drive it again, what a disappointment, slug like power, a real effort to get round bends and an uncomfortable driving position. There was nothing wrong with the car at all, I'd gotten older and used to driving modern cars in the meantime.

Two - '71 442 I had in high school when these cars were disposable. I blew it up in many different ways and sold it to a guy that used it for parts. If I knew better I would have taken better care of it. 2nd car was a '89 Buick LeSabre T-Type that I'd want back for the memories. I loved that car at the time & drove it until it had around 115K on it. I bought it three months after I met my future wife. I had it the entire time we dated & drove it to the church the day we got married.
It was big '90's style with tinted windows, cutsom dual exhaust, KYB struts and 16x8 Black mesh rims off a Grand Prix GTP. It drove great for a full size front driver and was comfortable as Hell.
