Good luck Tedd.

My BIL went in yesterday, he'll have to wait for a bone graft now. Not expected for us.

Hoping things don't go that way for you and NO, you be good!

Let us know.

Damn Tedd you're falling apart! Recover soon.

I just had a total abdomen scan today, what am I talking about?

As my father used to say 'Built in obsolescence.

I hear joint replacement is pretty beneficial as far as little risk and much better joints. So, how do you know you need a knee? A few weeks ago, at work, my knee just popped and hurt like a mother for a while. Since then it has done it 2-3 times, it feels like it won't bend or straighten. Gradually gets better.

Good luck with the surgery and hope for a fast recovery. I used to help do these total joint replacements, its a very beneficial procedure usually with good outcome. Very interesting to see how its done. It may have changed some since I was helping but i cant imagine it changed much.
Chris, sounds like you may have a torn meniscus, which is kind of a cartliage rim on top of the Tibia (lower leg bone), that surrounds the Femoral condyle (upper thigh bone) "knee joint". It can get torn and kind of flip into the joint causing pain and limited movement. Only thing that can be done is remove it, usually with a scope. Day surgery these days I think. Its called a Menisectomy.

Get well soon Tedd, and don't forget to keep the old parts for spares, maybe you could use them for around the house, cars, farm.

Well I'm off to the hospital in a few minutes, hopefully this is the last time for awhile. Many thanks for the encouraging words they do help calm me in the nervous department .Perhaps this time this will heal faster and won't screw up getting ready for the upcoming car and hunting season. Sometime this year I really would like to get into another build on some kind of a car but don't want to start something and not be able to finish it. I would rather buy one that someone else can't finish at a good price.. See you a little later ...Tedd

Well I'm back

Things went well, probably the least pain (so far) I've had with a joint replacement. I was lucky and got on this experimental program that used a new type of pain med (Exparel). This stuff is applied during the operation while the wound is open and exposed and can give great pain relief they say up to 96 hours, mine is beginning to fade after 48+hours but is much better than most of the other meds that I have been on in the past, I would use it again if i needed this operation for some reason.

So you will have to put up with me again, it's good to be back......Tedd

Glad you did well. I don't understand why medical science has not came up with a way to insert grease fittings into joints. When they ache, just a shot of grease. A little regular maintenance and they last a long while.

Well, I think they're sealed bearings, actually.

And, to quote a maintenance guy, "don't worry about pounding it hard, whatever makes its own oil can't wear out" on matters of love.
