Currently in my part of Kansas, USA, it is 6 farenheight with about 6 inches of snow. Could be worse. Tomorrow night is calling for -16 wind chills, fairly cool for my part of the world. Reminds me of the late 70's and the early 80's.

It's cold in CT.
I guess global warming only happens in the summer time.

It's cold in Ohio. 18 degrees right now, and we have around 22 inches or so of snow in my area and supposed to be getting another 2-3 inches tonight. Thanks, Lake Erie. I hate winter.

In Minnesota just east of St. Paul the forecast low tonight is -15F and the snow is piled up everywhere. Our snowmobiles have been getting a workout this winter. They say we might get above 32 next week.

Dallas TX -
Sunny, dry, and breezy, with lows in the low-mid teens, highs in the upper 20s... Windchills down in the single digits. Possible by Sunday we will do above the freezing point.

Garage is in the low 40s with no heat - that means no car work for a while...

He's hiding under a palm tree in Mexico trying to keep warm!

It's about 25 here in New York with about 4-6 inches on the ground. The 26" we got before Christmas almost completely disappeared and then we got more fresh powder. It is supposed to be 20-25 here this weekend. Oh well.

Currently clear, dry and cold here in Southern Vajenya. The outside thermometer is showing 20 degrees at 10 PM with an overnight low forecast of 15. High temp forecast for tomorrow is 30. It's been this way for a week.

Just glad all the snow is gone. I was about 30 miles north of here this morning and the stuff is still laying around everywhere from the Dec 18 storm.

Global warming my ****. That is one of the biggest political scams that has ever been perpetrated on the citizens of this country, and now they're trying to take it worldwide. Lots of money to be made off it, ya know...

Most everytime I hear the words "global warming", for some reason Thomas Dolby's "She Blinded Me With Science" cranks up in me head.

"Good heavens Miss Nakamoto, you're beautiful!"

It was minus 16 C a half hour ago when I got home...We have very little snow because people to the west of us like Chequenman hoard it and dole it out very sparsley so we have to be careful to spread it out evenly so that it looks like we are having winter ...try tobogganing when clumps of dirt are still showing in the fields...

Winter?

Funny thing about winter , it comes every year. Here we did not get snow until Jan. and up in the artic circle the seal hunters were a month late cause the ice was not frozen. Pretty strange when it's colder in Dallas than in Yellowknife or the Yukon.England is none too happy either as most of the country is covered in the white stuff. The west coast has been getting lots of rain which converts into lots of snow in the mountains , and they are happy about that since the winter olympics are there.temps here are still above normal but we are expecting the cold weather this coming week. Long range forecasts say that it will stay for about a week then going back to above zero.
we need some guys from Australia to report on how there weather has been.I know Col was swealtering in the heat a couple weeks ago and I was hoping they did not have the fire problems they had last year.

You heard right my friend - this morning it was 15*F. It is supposed to warm up to 30 today! repeat for tomorrow. Not even bush's hot air can help us now...
I saw it was slightly 'warmer' way north in Maine!

On the Illinois side of the St Louis area, it was -1 this morning and we have about 4 inches of snow that has drifted around. Quite cold even for us.

Jamesboro: Y'all made the Today show this AM, showed all the bumper car wrecks happening in Atlanta. Do they drive on ice/snow like they do in Dallas? Best bet is to stay home in front of the fireplace, w/a little toddy in hand!

Snow isn't the problem, it's

ice + idiots

Even my 4X4 has trouble stopping on solid ice. I drove less than 3 miles yesterday and saw 4 cars in ditches

Currently 28F with about 12" on the ground, pretty typical for this area. We usally get lake effect snow from Lake Michigan's warmer water, but that has gone north and south of me, where they have 24-30" on the ground. Thursday went for a walk at the state park that is near me, thought I might burn off a few calories as my clothes have suddenly shrunk in recent weeks! I usually ride a bike in the warm months, so I thought this would be a good idea. Well, after taking the stairs up the back of the dunes, and back down the trail to the shoreline...my chest is completely congested! So much for exercising for health! wheeze, wheeze.

it's damn cold!! close to 0 F. last three nights and hasn't gotten close to freezing during the day either. spent yesterday crawling around under the folks house to thaw pipes. never had to do that before. water lines are bursting all over town, city crews are racking up the overtime. it's 17 F right now.

last January it was a record ice storm that left us without power for nearly 2 weeks and brought down many of our big trees.

this is why I left central Wyoming

I can easily see why. It must have been on Thursday when we had some ice on the roads - LOTS of wrecks and even the trains were snarled due to ice on the power lines. It is best to stay home on any icy days in the dallas areas - too many idiots here who do not want to slow down and be careful.

It's so cold, the flashers are showing pictures of themselves. Actually it's projected to be 7C today about 46F. Wow. Watermains freezing at such warm temps. Here you don't hear of watermains freezing until you're in -40 territory for a few days. It usually isn't -40 for very long so watermain breaks happen, but not that often.

Apparently this happened in Churchill Manitoba which is a hugh tourist spot for Polar bear watching. A polar bear walked up to some Huskies tied to their dog sled. It was all photographed.....

I saw that video of the polar bears playing with the sled dogs. animals know when the intent is good or bad. Those bears are just hanging around waiting for the ice to freeze up enough to go hunt seal , which they prefer to eat. They do get into garbage and some cottages at times and end up in polar bear jail until temps are cold enough to release them.

We are a little light on the snow this year (not that I'm complaining), but to date we have had 75.5" of snow, compared to 129.2" as of this time last year.

Our winters have been a little less snowy over the past years, but this one really got us, right now we have around 3 to 4 feet of snow....
This morning there were many cars who got stuck in the snow, many roads the hadnīt been plowed, we drove in about 40 mph in to town this morning, usually I drive in about 65 mph on that road...

We're waiting for another round of snow to hit us tonight and in to tomorrow. Rocketraider... look out! They're saying parts of Virginia, Maryland, DC area could really get dumped on! I think we're supposed to get 3-6 inches, but who knows! It was nice to see the grass for a little while, anyhow! LOL!!!
