Pics! I wanted to go to Indy and didn't as I was afraid of driving 3 hours to not get in the venue. I checked in on facebook and found I had made a mistake. The venue was wide open and I should have went. Next year they are in Indy again, so........

Jim, great to see you again this year and thanks for the help with the water pump swap. My tally was 8 days, 9 states, and 2700 miles, which included the side trip to Lansing.

There seemed to be a disproportionate number of 1969 Oldsmobiles on this trip. I saw about half a dozen different 69 Cutlii and 442s, not counting the 69 wagons that Tony Bonafide and I drove.

Those cars just drive so sweetly. I owned and drove GM-A Bodies my whole life. Daily drove them until about 1987. Nice pics.

Agreed - they are nice pics. Since becoming a CO member I have noticed a theme on these Power Tour events.

I love that wagon....and, more importantly you're a great parking lot mechanic.

Very cool pics. While it sucks to have to do roadside (or parking lot) fixes, it just adds to the experiences and pads the stories of "I remember during the 2024 HRPT...."

Like with a pilot, any landing is a good landing. Any trip that the car makes it home without a tow is a good trip.

My 2018 long hauler made it without repairs, but the water pump failed soon thereafter and now it needs power steering rebuild.

Love to do that! Trunk on my 72 D88 is large enough to put all necessary spares and tools, and barrels of necessary fluids!!

Mote than likely, whatever part you need, you won’t have with you.

But almost certainly, you will have a stack of them at home.

I took way too much stuff. I brought a bunch of every fluid the car could take, belts, hoses, spares of all ignition parts, AC gauges/hoses, tool bag, a hammer and board to reinstall any wheel covers. Umbrellas, ponchos, two very nice folding chairs, a floor jack, lots of paper towels, and just enough drinks. I needed the chairs, the drinks, and 2 quarts oil and 1 quart antifreeze.
from my thread on my 2018 Long Haul. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...r-tour-126516/
