No more internal combustion engines?

Anyone seen the FAQ for the Green New Deal that was recently published online?

https://assets.documentcloud.org/doc...w-Deal-FAQ.pdf

Of specific note to all of us classic car owners/collectors is this from page 6, that is to be achieved within 10 years:

Totally overhaul transportation by massively expanding electric vehicle manufacturing, build charging stations everywhere, build out highspeed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary, create affordable public transit available to all, with goal to replace every combustion-engine vehicle.

Yeah, good luck with all that.
I'm not a Mitch McConnell fan, but I loved it when he said he was going to give this a vote. He had a huge smile on his face and said lets get everyone on the record if they support this or not. He looked like he was going to burst out laughing

AOC is what we deal with every day in upstate NY. NY is a state completely controlled by people who have hardly ever left the city and think everyone should live there.

Well, first, that FAQ apparently does not reflect the actual terms in the proposed legislation, so don't get spun up about it. Second, those of us who lived through the gas crises of the 1970s heard these exact same statements then. How'd that work out? The fact remains that the nation's electric grid can't support a hundred million electric cars all plugged in at once. Until that gets fixed, this is just a pipe dream. The fact also remains that until 100% of our electricity comes form nuclear, the emissions from power generation (coupled with transmission losses) will exceed what is emitted today. Personally, I believe that anyone who wants an electric car should get one now. The more electric cars on the road, the more gasoline for the rest of us.

Though you can't call AOC retarded, there should be a term for her brain never having developed in the common sense & reason regions.

When AOC was asked what she thought of Roe v Wade she replied-

"I don't care how they cross the Rio Grande, we should feed, clothe, TRY to educate and house them generation after generation by gift from the U.S. govt."
