Seriously, Norm Are you an Android phone expert? For some reason, When I try to post pics from my phone, it goes to files but they're only my downloads not my gallery
When I try to post pics from my phone, it goes to files but they're only my downloads not my gallery
Android expert? No.
I suspect your "gallery" is where any pictures you take on your Android are stored. I suspect downloads is any "file" you have downloaded from anywhere and of any type - regardless if it's an image file - any downloads go to the downloads folder as a "file".
I we use this logic then, pictures you take with your camera - where do they get stored? I suspect in your "gallery". Since, images you're take kinda makes sense they're be stored in a "gallery".
The issue here is I suspect how the Classic Oldsmobile mobile application views your Android phone and where it looks for "files" to upload. I'm going to head over to my iPhone and review the CO mobile application and get back to you shortly.
By default, a screen appears asking you where are these files stored you want to upload. There are three options I believe: From Device, Take Photo or My Albums. You should choose From Device. Then you're presented with three more options: Photo Library, Take Photo or Video, or Choose Files. You need to click on the "Photo Library" option since your Android pictures are stored in a "gallery" - the "gallery" being your Photo Library. Just be sure you're not selecting "Choose Files"
What you should see when you pick the "Photo Library" option are all of your "gallery" (images/pictures).
Yes, the app looks in a different folder. Gallery is the catch all photo app for android. I don't use the classicolds app, didn't even know there was one.

Thanks, John.
So, good. I was correct in assuming Android stores images in the "gallery" folder. This is the "Photo Library" you need to choose when trying to upload a photo to CO from an Android. Be sure you select "Photo Library" which will tell Android to look in the "Gallery".
from device....my files....SD card....dcim...camera... gets me to where the gallery stores the camera files.
another way is
from device...files... and recent files should have some camera pictures if recent.
Yes, on most devices there will be various ways to navigate to any type of file. However, by default, any mobile device (a PC for that matter depending on the OS) will store images/pictures in a default container - regardless what you call the container.

There is no "standalone" CO app, per se. I am simply referring to the CO mobile app which automajically loads into the mobile device Browser. It provides nothing more than a web (Browser) application interface; again, not a "standalone" application which you can obtain independently from an App Store (or other location).

oh, then I guess I use that, from time to time. If we are to be pedantic, I believe that is a mobile web page in your browser app, not a separate app.
As I stated above: Just be sure you're not selecting "Choose Files". You need to select "Photo Library" (which is your Android "Gallery")

That is correct. The interfaces for web browsers are "rapidly" changing pursuant to new industry standards. CO actually does a very good job of maintaining the latest s/w. Of course, they do this for the majority of the true revenue sites "other" than the CO site so it makes sense they stay on top of the game. IMO, they have a good hand on the development of enabling s/w.
Norm. I was using the post card thing [above] on my lap top NOT my phone guess some how my default switched. I'll get a kid to help me tomorrow when he has it in his hands
Since it doesn't happen on FB only CO, It sounds like you're correct. It's the way CO is looking for pics
Been working all weekend. Moving furniture, going through boxes, today we spent the whole morning shopping(after Awful house) and this afternoon I ran the mower and cleaned up in the yard a little. My niece has an offer on her house which means we can get the wheels in motion for my Mom's house. I foresee a lot of quick trips down here in the coming weeks.
My redneck neighbor years ago went on about how good fried bologna sandwiches were and couldn't believe I had never had one. So I went to Publix and got bologna, in fact the woman asked me if it was for fried sandwiches. Fired up a skillet, cut the edges, fried it up, and even toasted the bread. It was like eating hot bologna. I guess I have too much Yankee in me. Well, all of me is Yankee. Though I haven't run across too many people around me who put brown sugar on white rice, so who knows.
Glenn I love the 88. My favorite is the 66, I like the front end better, but it's really the same car and I'd have one in an instant. And especially a 4 door. Really nice car you have. And your Ninety Eight is the same year. Nice matched set.
I'll listen to Petty forever. He's from around me somewhere, Palos Heights IL seems to me. I'll have to look that up.
I think I'm done with my chores. I'm going to go get Sonny's for our dinner and I'm leaving fairly early in the morning, so I can get ready for work on Tuesday.
I had wondered about that. It seems that so many things are run on the server side and dealt with through your browser now.
Yes. The move forward is a Unified Interface (UI) Application running in a Browser with Legacy Web Clients being deprecated. Where historically we've seen Web Servers serve up static pages (some have obviously move to more dynamic pages), the move is to host an ensemble of Web Application Servers and have a Unified Interface (Application) running within the Browser. There are already many of these UI Application servers running worldwide - in the most secure of environments, the UI Web Application Servers create a nesting of VR (Virtual Routers) to negotiate encrypted/secure traffic via https handling CAs (Certificates Of Authority) which are negotiated via the UI (when required - banks, brokerages, etc. any industry requiring two-party handshake encrypted authentication). It removes much of the cumbersome burden from the client OS and the server OS if the negotiations can be handled via a UI.
Norm, I thought you might ax so, Beef tips, toadstools, gravy, mashed taters, fields peas with choc chow
James - That looks delicious! Did you mean to write chow chow, instead of "choc chow"? My Grandma (on Mom's side) made two varieties of chow chow, a mild and a very hot 🔥 🔥 🔥! I loved them both.

Chris, Yes I did, Phat Phingers So sorry, I love the stuff especially on peas field and black-eyed peas
Tanks Greg, It's a little different The PO put a speaker in the storage area that will break glass. I've never used it, I prefer the sound of the BBO. It even has a tic toc tach

James - I remember my grandparents having a Mason jar of the stuff on the table for every meal. I know I've spoken of this before, but my Grandma on my Mom's side canned about everything you can imagine, and was the best cook I've ever known. My Mom was a good cook too, but couldn't hold a candle to Grandma.
Supposed to be 50° here today and tomorrow, then the bottom drops out on Wednesday and they're forecasting a significant winter storm Wednesday afternoon thru Thursday, with a projected 6 - 10-inches of snow. Normally I wouldn't give a crap, but my wife is scheduled to have the 2nd stage of her teeth implants (4) on Thursday, which involves screwing the posts into the abutments that were inserted into the jawbone. If it looks like we're really going to get over 6", I hope they cancel and reschedule her appointment before we have to get out in the mess.
My step-daughter and her two little girls (ones that moved back from CA) were able to buy a house, and my wife is going over there today to help her clean and get the house organized. I will be on dog duty all day. Not much else going on.
--A good friend came over yesterday and we went over to barn and worked on crashed Impala. Of course damage was worse than it looked. It was cold when collision occurred and all plastic was brittle. Right headlamp assembly was cracked apart all along the inside and ear in rear where it screwed to sheet metal was broke off. The plastic part that goes across behind the bumper/facia was broken off on right side, Hood was bent at front edge and rear right side where hinge is. The upper and lower grilles were broken and pushed in. Chevy bow tie and license plate frame knocked off. Right fender rubbed on door when door was opened and whole fender was pushed out causing large gap at hood to fender opening- largest at front- maybe 3/4". We bent back edge of fender out so doesn't hit on fender, removed and superglued headlamp back together using a carpenters wood clamp, took out 2 bolts that held inner plastic to inner sheet metal and replaced with big washers that could grab what was left of the broken plastic ears, on and on. So car is ok for what it now is... A Harrison Beater- fits right in around here! But now I know it is still safe and alright to use for a while.
==Been looking at Traverse info online and found that a basic Traverse has only a 1500 lb towing capacity unless it's equipped with the trailer towing package- then it is 5000 lb. The trailer package is $650.00. Well that is fine but found out you can't get the trailer pkg on the basic Traverse. It has to be a LT Cloth version or above to get the tow pkg. So the LT Cloth package is $5000 more than the base, of course you get more other stuff. But I was almost getting able to consider buy a new car for 37,000 but now it's more like 42,000!! Also there is something about heated seats and or rear cameras not being available now and you get back like $50.00 for not getting those??? HUH??? Maybe something to do with chip shortage?? I want heated seats. It's cold here. You guys heard anything about that?
-- Neighbors Traverse ended up being a 2019 coming off a 3 yr lease in August, It is a awd and had trailer pkg so I may get that one. We'll see...
It's heated seats and steering wheels. $50 credit for each unavailable option, but if you're really interested in a new vehicle, ask which ones can be added later when chips can be obtained. The rear cameras are mandated safety equipment on certain classes of vehicles and have been for a while, so I doubt they'd remove that one.
If you choose to get the neighbor's Traverse, work a deal with him so that he buys out the lease and you buy it from him. Otherwise, going thru the dealer is going to cost you extra. The chip shortage issue is supposed to get a little better this year, but it will result in used car prices staying higher than normal.

Yes, the wife's friend / salesman at the local dealership said due to chip shortages some vehicles are being manufactured without all of the optional convenience items, just so that they can make and sell vehicles.
