Mawn'in all

Warm an windy dis mawn'in.

Scot,

I never heared of such a thing, but it sounds good. Do you use "Old Bay" or sum utter kinda season'in?

Mike,

I went down to da city but de car wasn't there. My bud showed me sum pics on his I phone or whatever ya call dem things. She's pretty ruff, needs interior, top, and has rust in the quarters an front fenders. Typical stuff ya see in all of dem. Hasn't been cranked fer years. Green, black interior and black top. It looks alot like Rob's car wit de front bench seat fold down arm rest thingy. He's ax'in $4,800 but he knows he's high.

Now a grammer test. Did anyone catch de "Oxford comma"

Sandy, I told cha there's a Billy Bob in Bama in Nicole's near future. Let's jes hope all his Tats are spelt correctly.

Udo, On de news dar was dis film of a plane crab'in into your airport in high winds. Sucker was darn near sideways.

Pat, I'm on strike in de kitchen. I'm sick an tired of be'in sick an tired.
Not really, I jes haven't been very creative lately. Mostly meat and taters fer comfort food. Pot roast, meet loaf, and dat kinda thing.

Donny an I still sneak out fer fried chicken livers ever now an den. and next week sum fellow "Emroids" are headed fer de Crawfish shack to eat sum mud bugs.

Sum times I jes get in a cook'in slump. I have been try'in to perfect flakey layered biscuits. I've been roll'in de dough rear thin and fold'in it up to make layers, I started us'in a floured tin can insted of a biscuit cutter, [ta make dem bigger] an scrunch'in dem real close together in de biscuit pan. De come out kinda like a flakey cat head [as opposed to a crumbly cat head]

"Smithfied" Lard is de trick wit biscuits. Crisco or butter jes aint de same.

Morning All!

It's a mess out here today. We had rain/sleet early while the temps were still above freezing, now it's turned to snow, temp was right at 32 when I came in to work and it's snowing big flakes! It's an icy slushy mess outside. Not supposed to last they say, but you know how that goes......

Steve is off today, so that's nice! Keeps me a little busier. Brian is still whiney - that never changes, lol. I have the fan and my sandals on. Temp is 76 in here.

Nicole says her mouth is ok.... no real pain. She goes to clean the rich lady's house at 11:00. Told her to be careful out there driving. I sure worry in this weather, with no experience.....

Jamesbo.... you sound like Larry, lol! He keeps saying he gets tired of his own cooking! I cook occasionally, but not often. He fried poke steaks last night. They were good!!

Well you all have a good day, and stay safe.!

Good morning everyone.

Jamesbo it sounds like your friend is about 4000 too high with his car. Why was he going to tow it into the city?

I'm in a bit of a funk this morning. Not really sure why. Work was good, tonight is my Friday, and the sun is trying to peek out. I guess I haven't been in a funk in awhile and it's built up. Hope it goes away while I'm sleeping.

It's a bit windy here this morning, so I'm going to try to secure the cover on my neighbor's boat and then hit the sack. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all

TGIF, except for getting another day older it's nice to see the weekend again. Will finish cleaning up the yard this weekend.

Jamsbo

The biscuits sound good. Lard is the only way for baking. Sometimes it is hard to find in the stores around here.

I think everyone is tired of the wet and grey sky's hard to keep positive energies flowing.

I like them mud bugs, Every time I go down to Texas my friend puts on a boil with bugs, corn and new potatoes, cold beer in the cooler always has 20-30 people show up. great times. Now I'm hungry for bugs.

I jes learnt it de utter day from a guy who writes fer de newspaper.

It's also called a "Serial comma"

Letme see if'in I can make a sentence us'in one.

Nicole used to date Elmer, David, and Charlie.

It's de comma befo de and, [could be or sum times nor]

Next, I'm gonna learn y'all sum bout "Dangl'in participles " and "misplaced modifiers" next.

Sandy was walk'in her dog in a short skirt.

Dat dare is a "misplaced modifier" cause de dog ain't wear'in a skirt.

Plumet'in to earth, we seen a meteor hit.

Dat dare is a dangl'in participle.

It should be ...We seen a meteor hit plumet'in to earth.

Dats 'bout enough of dis crap.

Hey David, I'm about 4 hours from Savannah. I've only been there a couple times, and both times were to go to the Paula Deen restaurant. Now that's a good place to eat. I'd love to spend some time there and check out the waterfront. It's supposed to be all done up.

So everyone, it's my last night of work. Hopefully the weather will stay nice over the weekend and I can get a lot done around the house. My neighbor said he'd help me with some things in the yard.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good morning everyone.

And what a beautiful morning it is. Sunny and getting up to 60* . I love it. And as luck would have it, it's car washing day. Gonna get the blue Suburban washed up and pretty, as it's going to be pressed into service these next couple weeks. One thing about a big block though, it costs me 50 bucks just to get it out of the driveway. Can't beat it for towing.

Work was okay, got a decent nap in at the 4am break. Feel pretty good so far so I'll try to stay up all day. Better get moving before I lose my mojo.

Jamesbo enjoy your company this weekend. Everyone have a great weekend.

Jamsbo,

let me know how the biscuits turn out. Just waiting a little while before I start the chain saw. Don't want the neighbors throwing rocks at me for disturbing their sleep. I'll get the yard cleaned up fix the landscape lights then wait for the next storm. Suppose to clear up and have blue skies but it is cold for around here, staying in the 30's.

You all have a good day

Hi everyone.

Did I miss anything in the last couple of weeks?

I was away for 2 weeks, one in Las Vegas and the other in Texas. I had a great time. Vegas was exciting, so much stuff to do and see. I even took a couple of hour detour to Kingman, AZ to see some Route 66 stuff again. Texas was fun, spent a couple of days in Dallas and went to a few museums. Also met with a few Olds people, including Aron from this forum (Sandy, I guess you need to meet another person from the forum in person now ).

It was a bit of a shock going from 82F to below freezing and snow when I got home.

Now that I am back home, I've been spending the week job searching. I live in a government town and the government is going to be starting lots of layoffs

And to add to the good morning food list, I made breaded chicken with balsamic cream sauce for dinner tonite.

I think it is going to take me a while to get caught up on all the posts I missed.

Have a good weekend.

Good evening all, been raining here for the last week so I can say I feel your pain

Been doing a bit of ot so I have been to tired to do anything else. Work, eat, shower, sleep, and repeat I used some of your krings engrish thar Jamesbo

Hope all is going well with your daughter Clint.

You could always crack open that aussie recipe book I sent ya for some inspiration Jamesbo Then after you can share your great cooking skills with the rest of us

Good to hear your yard is almost under control Pat. If your up on a weekend doesn't it mean that your neighbors should be up too?

I know how you feel Mike but there is no point me taking any time off with all this rain we are having at the moment, that and I can't even go for a cruise cause the yard is too soggy now so I can't get the car out and onto the road and will be for a couple of weeks after the rain stops Sort of how Teepo feels Sandy when the sun comes out and she is ready to play but will get a wet bottom if she isn't patient

Glad to hear the extraction went well with Nicole. That stinks about the card mix up though You didn't by chance ask if they could "remove" some of her silly as well so she can make some better decisions

Sounds like you had fun on your trip Paul. Vegas is fun isn't it. Would have been better if I stayed longer and didn't have Minette with us cause it really isn't a child friendly town but she did love the things we found there

Here is a little translation for you all.

Have a great day ya'll

Scot, We ain't got no diplomas wit Elvis on dem. We go gots sum Velvet portriats of Elvis an sum Chanille bed spreads wit his pic on dem.

Mike, I tried to post a pic of a "Car Alarm" with 4 German Shepards look'in out de winder but it didn't werk.

Pat, I bought sum "Ace hardware" bar oil de utter day and it was so thin, It wouldn't last thru a whole tank of gas. P.O.S stuff if ya ax me.

Stay warm and enjoyy de rest o de weekend.

Good afternoon everybody.

Got up early this morning and my neighbor helped me do some work to my seawall. It's got holes in it and the lake has been slowly eating away at my back yard, causing sink holes.

Adrian I know what you're saying about the eat sleep work routine. I love the Aussie gentleman. I visit friends in Victoria every year and they say things like this. Always a challenge to decode some of their sayings. They get a good laugh out of some of the things I say, too.

Jamesbo there's one thing I can count on, and that is that no one is going to steal my car when I'm not around if the dogs are inside.

Still have a little daylight left, and it's so nice out. I think I'll go gather some firewood so it's nice and toasty in here tonight.

So the weekend is over and I hope everyone has a good start to their week.

Good mid-afternoon

Well the yard is cleaned up, all the yard lights fixed. Bought a whole tenderloin and a whole boneless rib eye and cut both up into steaks. Going to have rib eye steaks on the "Q" for dinner tonight. Now gonna kick back have a couple of beers and chill for the rest of the day.

Adrian,

I thought it was summer down there. Whats with all the rain.

Jamsbo,

Its a crap shoot no matter what you buy these days. We have an old timey hardware store close by called McKlendon that still carries all the good stuff. You can still buy 1-nut, 1-bolt, and 1-washer and if you need a water pipe cut and threaded they can do that to. I gave up on the chain big box stores and even the Ace around here sucks. They carry good chain oil.

Talk to you all later

Evening All!

Well the weekend went fast, as usual. It was cold and snowy and windy here both days. Did have some sun yesterday afternoon and this morning. It was in the 30's yesterday and today got up to 40. Had a pretty good white out come through around 4:00 this afternoon. Kind of just out of nowhere. Clouds moved in, and all of a sudden it's snowing like a bitc*!! Couldn't see the street from the house! Then it started blowing. It was ugly for about 45 minutes. Then the sun came out. Weird....

Well Nicole was recuperated enough to go to Columbus to some kind of Anime convention thing this weekend. She stopped by work Friday afternoon and gave me a key to the apartment and asked if I would go out and feed grand dog and the cats, and take grand dog outside, so I did that twice yesterday and again this morning. I had to spend some time playing with the animals too, lol. So I got behind on my stuff here. I enjoyed it though.

I spent most of Saturday up at Lin's. Jean came by after work and we put up those drapes I got Lin. I am upset.... they look like crap. That friggin traverse rod is crooked or something. Both sets of drapes I got are 63" long. After we got all the hooks in the drapes and got them hung, the set (sheers) in the middle are higher than the set (heavy drapes) on each end!!! I've never seen anything like it in my life! They would look real nice if they were even. I just couldn't believe it. But I shall conquer that window!!!! I won't be defeated!

Larry said he'll go up sometime and see if he can do something with the rod. Could be the whole wall is out of square - we run into that all the time here in our house. Seems like back when, they didn't use levels too often, we've found out the hard way, lol!

Today I spent cleaning and doing laundry. Still doing laundry now. Sheets are in the washer, towels in the dryer. We went to Wal Mart this afternoon before the blizzard, lol.

I'm watching the news now, and they're talking about the deer over population in Avon Lake. Guess they're going to have some kind of a meeting this week to talk about what to do about them. Guess bucks are fighting in peoples back yards, people are afraid to let their kids out to play, and a cop hit one with his car a couple days ago. One guy just said he has anywhere from 14 to 18 of them in his back yard at times! I can believe it. We have waaaayyyy too many of the friggin things around here. They need to be thinning the herds!

Mike... glad to hear you're getting some of your lake work done!

Adrian..... welcome to our world, lol! Nothing like rain..... Did you see the clock with Teepo on it that BigJerr put on my FB page?? You know I'm gonna be ordering it, lol! Probably have to get a half dozen of em, lol!

Paul.... Welcome back! Glad you had a nice trip! I've been through Kingman. I love Arizona!!! I love the West. Nice that you got to meet some more CO people! That's cool!!

Citcapp.... Glad you got all your clean up work done! Hopefully that won't happen again before the winter is over. We have so many limbs down in the backyard. They'll be there in the spring, lol!

Jamesbo.... I'm with you on this election crap!! Tired of hearing it already!! They all just stand there and lie anyhow. I just hope we get the right kind of "change" on election day, or we won't have a country left to worry bout. Nuff said!

We got our second gas bill. The first one was $98, and this one was $80. We're liking that, lol! Beats the heck out of getting a $900 propane bill!

Well gotta get the towels out of the dryer and throw the sheets in, so I'll talk to ya all tomorrow.

Morning All!

A crisp 18 degrees here this morning, but the sun is out! Supposed to go up to around 40 today. They're talkin about 53 degrees tomorrow and Wed., then back to the 30's..... this is some real strange weather!

Quiet in here. Hope this week goes fast. Steve is back today, so not much for me to do.

Udo..... don't worry about Jamesbo's grammer or spelling. Just guess at what he's saying, lol! It's easier!

Hope you get to golf today, Jamesbo!

Howdy everyone!

Jamesbo, I live on Swan Lake. It's just outside of Stockbridge. Not big, about 80 acres.

Today is beautiful. Gonna be around 60 I think, so I got plenty to do outside.

Udo, when it says try another language, just put in "Jamesbo." It should come right up.

Pat I'm forever trying to clean up the yard. I have pine trees that like to shed their branches/cones/needles all the time. Quite the challenge. Oh and when a storm comes through....

Sandy I hope the week goes fast, too. I'm going to Florida next week to buy a car from a friend of mine. I'm pretty excited.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good afternoon all

Jamsbo,

Had a gal here on TV cookin de squirrel. Making up some fancy name for the dish. We have grey's here and they eat fire and ceder cone nut mostly must taste kinda rank if you ask me. I don't think I am interested in eating a tree-rat. I buy my meat from a Grocery wholesaler located close by through my business. Costs a whole lot less plus I cut it up myself. The Grocery stores around here can't cut a good hunk of meet. Sometimes I buy meat from this place http://doubleddmeats.com/ . Great meat and great marinades.

Sandy,

That natural gas price sure beats the propane plus the pain of getting it filled.

Good evening all, good to hear you are having s few warmer days. The rain has stopped here too but the humidity is still pretty high.

Both machines have stopped at work tonight so it is nice and quiet here tonight

I would go without meat if I couldn't afford it. Don't think I could eat a rodent

I did see those clocks Sandy, looks good.

Have a good day all,

Come on Alex, ya gotta say more dan dat. We got rules ya know.

Pat, My first day out on de links dis year and it's frigg'in "Cart path only" Walked 10 miles slosh'in ' round chas'in whitey. My 3 wood let me down, my sand wedge let me down an I couldn't putt werth a "Tinkers' Hurray"

Boy dat wreck in Florida was sum'n wasn't it. [ De car wreck not de political wreck]

Mike, I bet yous glad you weren't go'in down thar sooner to pick up your car. Dat thing was a hellovamess. Reminds me of a similiar one up in Tenessee a few years back whar de smoke from de paper mill filled up a whole valley.

Hey, I thought "Swan Lake" was a ballet?

Udo, Spreekt u Nederlands? Ik had eens Nederlandse vriendin. Ze nam mijn geld en liet me.

Hi all,
Another nice day waking up afloat. Got some epoxy and fiberglass to do before I head back to the garage. Anything over 40 deg or so will kick off epoxy so I'm taking advantage even tho it slows down Toronado progress...
This is the winter I've been wishing for!

Morning All!

An absolute beautiful "spring" morning here today. Temps in the high 40's, birds are singing..... it's cloudy, but can see a little blue in the sky. Heading to the 50's today. Sure wish it would stay like this. I'm sure we'll get the usual February weather.....

Not much going on. Had to stop and put air in Tincanios rear passenger side tire this morning. That low tire light was on when I started her. I must have gotten something in the tire when I went to Lin's on Saturday, cause the low tire light came on Sunday morning. And last night it was on when I left here. It goes down to about 25 lbs. I'm gonna walk across the street at lunch - there's a little NAPA garage over there - and see if they can find the leak. Save me having to go to Defer. I've never had so much trouble with tires on a vehicle in my life! Tincanio has already had 2 flats from screws picked up in the tires, lol. Maybe it's the wide tread pattern or something. Never had any tire troubles when I was driving the Oldsmobiles all those years!

Another quiet day in here, but thank God it's payday!!! I'm soooo broke, lol! Hagerty Insurance was due on Teepo in January, now State Farm is due on the Intrigue and Tincanio by the 4th. Mailed those this morning. Almost $500!!! We get paid on the 15th and the last day of every month. Had to go 18 days between checks this time.... it sucked!!!

Well you all have a good day! Enjoy the spring weather, lol!!

Morning all!

That wreck in Florida was downright scary! Glad I wasn't in it, but feel for the ones that were.

Sandy I used to drive a Suburban that got stuff in the tires at least once a week. I could drive any other car and be fine, but for whatever reason that truck was a magnet for tire debris. At work we call that FOD.

David you sound like you live on a boat. My plan for my pontoon is to enclose part of it and be able to spend nights out on it. Sure tied up to my dock but on the water nonetheless.

Gonna help my buddy get his truck to the transmission shop today. I had to retrieve him with the flatbed last week. Don't know what's wrong but it isn't anything $1000 can't fix.

Jamesbo how close are you to Winder?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Mawnin All!

Beautimus day here. Today I have to clear out the livingroom and hallway so I can tear out the old carpet tomorrow. I can't wait and the TW can't either. LOL

That pileup down in Fla reminds me of folks around here when it snows or the roads ice over Terrible and sad for those that lost their lives.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Tuesday!

Not close at all, I'm in Milton above Alpharetta jes south of Cumming [ not jokes ere please] in upper, upper North Fulton County. If I hit a good drive off my front poach to de west, I'm in Cherokee County, if I hit one to de east, I'm in Forsyth County. It used to be de unincorporated community of Birmingham.

Some blue sky peaking out, the weatherman looked in his crystal ball and tells us we may have clear skys thru Friday. Glory be wouldn't that be nice

Jamsbo,

Sounds like you had fun on the course He he he he, Had to have hit a least one good shot to bring you back.

Sandy,

I had a Mazda once and all the tires leaked air. Had to buy four new tires to stop the problem.

God is it just GORGEOUS outside!! I really enjoyed my walk today! It's around 57 degrees, sun is out, sky is a beautiful blue! I can't imagine having this kind of weather in the winter. You folks that live in the warmer climates are so fortunate! I would just love it!! It's gonna suck later in the week when it gets cold again. The poor plants and shrubs just don't know what to do. There are buds on the trees and bushes.....

Scot...... Where'd you end up getting your carpet from??

Citcapp...... Don't say that, lol!! I made an appointment to take her to Defer Tire tomorrow night to have it fixed. I hope......

Good afternoon all.

It has been snowing since last night and will continue all day, until it switches to freezing rain tonite.

Tonite is the meeting of all the local car clubs and show organizers to put together a calendar for the upcoming car show season events. One step closer to spring

Have a good day.
