Mike - Thanks for the compliment on the pics, I can't take any credit, my wife was the official photographer, I just had to keep the bike between the lines. Be safe on your trip to Florida and I hope you have a great time.

Kenneth - So sorry to hear your family is going to be displaced again. I hope their property comes out ok on the other side of the storm. All the folks down there along the gulf have been through way too much this year, as well as the folks dealing with all the wildfires.

Well, dang! Better than what I got to post Jamesbo. Headed up to Pentwater for a car show. They are a tourism town, I'm quite sure that the covid has really affected the business' there. With a mild weather forecast, it should bring some Chicago fall color tourist and $$.

I was looking at the Lake Charles news online and saw this. I don't remember ever seeing hurricane and 100% rain in a graphical forecast.

Good afternoon guys,
With all the nice scenery pics posted lately, every responsible guy needs some good rubber. Just got me some new rubber today!

New tires for my Yamaha this morning. That's a 200 55 R17 on the rear, that's some BIG rubber.

Red kidney & chili beans is what us northerners use. It was overcast and gray when I left this a.m., but the sun came out on the way to the show, and it turned out to be pretty nice. I should'a wore shorts. The cars were parked a bit tight, and the town was very busy. The Chicago folks and their money showed up in droves. I'll post pics later.

Hi everyone.

Got home a little while ago. I'm beat. Don't know why, I didn't do too much this weekend and the trip home was uneventful.

Had rain most of the weekend, but the hurricane was a no-show. Still lots of damage evident from the last one. Mom just had branches down in her yard, and the neighbor took care of them right away.

Need to do some catching up then hit the sack. Inspection for work this week, but I'm gonna try to get that other guy to work tomorrow, since he didn't show last Monday.

Okay have a good evening everyone.

Mike, glad to hear no hurricane issues at your Mom's place. The families in LA weren't so fortunate.

Mother-in-law's house. Tarp installed after Laura detached, exposing hole in roof, and front doors blew open. Even more water damage than after Laura.

My Mom's house surrounded by water. She hasn't been able to get back to check the house but neighbors don't think water got quite high enough to flood the house. Garage door was damaged during Laura. Second pic is the field behind her house. Note the power lines along the roadway that are almost touching the ground. My lil sis's house is about 1/4 mile away in the background, tarp blew off the roof but no word yet if any more damage beyond what happened during Laura.

No pictures from the other family members houses yet as they are still evacuated out of town. Don't know when they will be back as electricity and water are out again.

Kenneth - So sorry to hear about the additional damage to your family's properties. All the folks down there have been subjected to way too much pain and suffering this year. I hope your relatives can get home soon, get necessary repairs done, and get back to some kind of normalcy, if there is such a thing during these crazy times?

Hi everyone.

Red letter day at work. I told the other guy he needed to work in inspection to make up for last Monday. He said he'd do it but would take time off whenever he wanted to, not when I wanted him to. Not sure what that meant but I can't believe it actually worked. I'm pretty sure I'm just out the other four days he owes me, but today was victory.

Was nice here today, haven't seen a forecast for the rest of the week. I hope it's nice this weekend.

Kenneth I'm so sorry your family can't catch a break. Prayers that they will be able to get back soon and get things cleaned up.

Dan those are great pictures. I think my favorite out of them is the Thing. Was it an Acapulco?

Went to Walmart for a few things after work, glad that's done with. Actually I was in and out, no hassles. Got gas for the car, too, so I'm not walking to work.

Okay have a good evening everyone. Hope the week started out good.

Hi guys, all good here except wife is sick again, but what's new there? It's about 3-4 times a years she gets a bad cold or the flu or something and it kicks her ***. Used to think it was because she was a school bus driver and got bugs from kids but shes been retired for 10 years and it's still the same. Of course this time we had to go to the urgent care and get a covid and flu test. The flu test came back negative the Covid test takes a few days so we have to wait to see. I doubt she has it but we'll see. Ah I'm just bitchin'... Everything much better here in Michigan than having to deal with the hurricanes/floods/ fires in other parts of the country. Thanks for the pics, Dan. I don't think I've ever been to Pentwater... Got Olds put away last week- that is a sad occasion. Boat and dock is still in lake but I'm glad we left it in- still been a nice October so far weather wise. If we don't have to quarantine this weekend I plan to help son and family get their boats and docks out and store in barn. Have a good one guys!

Greg - For you, your wife's, and your family's sake, I hope your wife's test comes back negative. I'm with you that it's a sad time of year when you have to start winterizing stuff. Had my sprinkler system shutdown and winterized yesterday. Last year I waited too long and was wrapping external pipes and backflow valve for a couple days until the service guy could make it to me. I usually don't put my car and bikes up until the middle to end of November because we can have some really pretty days all the way to December.

Not a whole lot going on here today, but it's pretty out with sunshine and a high of about 75. Going to ride with a buddy tomorrow and we're supposed to get more of the same weather wise, although the temp is supposed to get close to 80. Wouldn't doubt it will be the last time this year we hit 80 if it makes it that high. I'm not really sure where we're going because it's his turn to plan the route, I told him to surprise me.

Well, I hope everyone's had a nice day, and has a relaxing evening!

Hi everyone.

Beautiful out, and supposed to be through the weekend. That's fine with me, my friend will be here and we're going to work on cars.

Work was good. Mostly nose wheels today so no heavy lifting. It won't be the same tomorrow... I'll eat my Wheaties.

Greg hope the Mrs. kicks the croup quick. No fun being sick. For years I'd get cellulitis a couple times a year like clockwork. Haven't had it a couple years. Maybe I've outgrown it. Boy that's some hateful stuff.

I find myself in need of a 40ft shipping container. Anyone ever buy one? Around here they are about 2500 delivered. Do you ever have to give it back or do you for sure own it? Can it be moved once it's placed? When they say one use container, why would a company spend that much money on a new container and then use it once, and then seemingly sell it for a fraction.

Okay! Gotta clean up in the kitchen a little then relax. Have a good evening everyone.

Well apparently summer is not over yet. The evening weather forecast said we will have 100+ temps for the next three days, then high 90s through the weekend. Ugh, it just never ends.

Kenneth - I don't envy the brutal summer you've had. Has it been that horribly hot at the higher elevation south of Tuscon? My wife and I have talked about buying a small one bedroom casita in the Green Valley area where I have relatives. We'd probably just use it 3 or 4-months out of the year to get away from the nasty weather here.

That area is pushing mid-high 90s through the weekend but next week's lows are high 50s. I'm sure the weather would be fantastic from November through April. Anywhere in Arizona is hot during the summer months, it's just some places are hotter than others.

Hi everyone.

Another beautiful day. Gonna get cool by the weekend but still sunny. Nice.

Jamesbo remember I asked you about a guy that wrote to you and you sent him to me and you didn't remember? I emailed him awhile back to see what ever happened with him and he finally wrote me back. He had a 72 Cutlass he bought new, put a million miles on it, got rear ended, and had a whole new rear body put on, ie, everything past the door was from another car welded on. He wanted to sell it and a slew of spare parts. His name is Tommy Crowe and he's from Johns Creek. He left it sit while he attended to some health problems and now he's trying to sell it again.

Kenneth I wish it were still that warm here. I never minded the hot weather. Some years ago I had my name on a transfer list to go work at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. During the first layoffs they said if our name comes up for a transfer and we don't go, we're fired. I found that to be a bit harsh, so I called the people who did the transfers and took my name off the list. Anyone who accepted a bid during those times had two weeks to get to it, and there was no way I could pick up and move with no notice, and no way I could have commuted until I could move. So, Phoenix eluded me.

Had plans to work on the car today after work but instead talked on the phone for two hours. I had called to enquire about a car and ended up talking about the car for a few minutes and everything else in the world the rest of the time. Eh, I knew that would probably happen.

Gonna clean up a little then hit the sack. Finally over the hump. These last few weeks seem to be dragging by. Work was okay today, had big gaps of time where there were no wheels, don't know what we finally finished at. Tomorrow will be more of the same.

Okay have a good evening everyone.

Good evening guys,
Headed out this morning on my ride at 0900 and it was 56 degrees. Got home at 1600 and it was 85, what a temp swing! Now the high tomorrow is only supposed to be 61 and the low Friday morning is supposed to dip down to 31. That is so typical of our weather here in St. Louis this time of year. It was a nice ride out northwest to the Missouri River and wine country. There's alot of vineyards out in that area and it's very scenic. Sorry, no pics this time. The ride was 230-miles round trip for me, not what I would consider long, but for some reason it really took it out of me today, I'm pooped. Hope everyone has a great evening!

Well got the results yesterday- wife does not have covid. Thats good! But what is it? She called again today and can't get a real appt w Doctor- only another virtual appt. Ah Ok.... whatever... otherwise everything good. I have to change the oil and filter on our 2010 Impala, It has about 140,000 miles on it-been a good car. I got 300,000 out of my last Impala, a 2002 loved that car, but probably wont get that many out of this '10- we just don't drive that much after retirement. Cooler here now that's Ok. Have a good one guys!!

Greg - Really glad to hear your wife does not have Covid! Hope she's able to get something from the doctor to get her feeling better soon.

Cool (55) and misting out here right now. We're supposed to get periods of light rain through the morning. Going to head out to the garage soon and finish cleaning my bike after yesterday's ride. Not too much more to do except going over the painted surfaces with Maguires detailer because I got the bugs and road grime off yesterday evening before I lost the light.

There's a car show about 20-miles from me on Saturday that I'm planning on going to if the forecast holds. It's scheduled from 10 to 2, so not as much of a time commitment as some of those that have lasted from 9 to 3 or 4. This has been the first show season since I got my car and as you all know, it hasn't been typical because of all the Covid cancelations. However, we have had more than our fair share of shows and "cruise ins" the second half of the season. For me, I think I enjoy the "cruise ins" better than the actual shows because you can come and go as you please without essentially forfeiting your entry fee if you leave a show early. Committing 6 or 7-hours just to hear the results of the judging gets pretty boring to me. At shows I enjoy talking to folks who take an interest in my car, and talking to other participants about their cars, but after I've walked through the field 2 or 3 times, I've about had enough. If I end up going on Saturday that will probably be the last hurrah of the season for me as far as events go.

Hope everyone has a great day! Time to get to work!
