slantflat - Hilarious, wife and I watch Seinfeld a lot. I barely have have Kramer beat when it comes to being a home handyman. Thank God for You Tube videos and the guys who make them. That's how I learned to do most of the maintenance on my motorcycles. Now I'm watching them to learn how to do maintenance on my Olds. Watched a video a couple weeks ago where a guy showed where to find all the zerk fittings to lube the steering components.
Norm and Dream, I've seen every episode multiple times, and I also have the full series on DVD that I watch regularly. Just one of those things that clicked. Dream said he was putting in a garbage disposal, and I remembered Kramer putting one in his shower. Kramer this dinner is delicious. Thank you, I prepared it in my shower as I bathed.
Watched Red Dog. Missed it this year on the plane to Australia as I flew Delta. When I fly QANTAS it's the first movie I watch, both ways. It's kind of a slow movie in places but if you like dogs you can't beat it.
Got some laundry to finish up then it's off to bed. I'm going to try to instill in Tiger that we get to sleep in tomorrow. He has a hard time grasping that concept. Funny boy.
Off the top of my head, my most memorable are lost in the parking garage, the stolen loaf of bread, the airline going down, and mom and dad in the horse drawn carriage.

Don't forget the failure to intervene where they were arrested and tried for doing nothing.

Well you have had a much different experience than I have had. Too many folks post videos of doing things incorrectly or finding out they replaced the wrong part and haven't corrected the original issue, then still upload the video knowing the information is not right. And even the folks who do it right make a 30 minute video for a 10 minute operation.
Good morning Olds friends - It's suppossed to be a nice day here in the St. Louis area today, sunny and mid-80's. Putting on my Grandpa hat this afternoon for a 2nd birthday party for one (pic)
of my 3 grandsons. We have two daughters, but no sons, so now with the grandsons I get to do all the stuff my dad with me. Lots of fun, but they can certainly wear me out! Have a great weekend guys!
I Loved "Master of your Domain", such a Hoot!! I've found that over the years, I think I don't like a TV series when it is current. Then after it comes on reruns I find I love it... Examples, Seinfeld, Star Trek-2nd generation, 70's show, Big Bang Theory... I have to admit some of those TV writers are geniuses!
Peaceful morning so far, cloudy but no rain. Never made it to the hardware store because it started raining while I was in the Awful house. Now I'm torn. Do I go get mortar and work on the wall and chance it raining? Or do I wait until it isn't going to rain? If I wait, the water will come up and I won't be able to do what I need to. Maybe I can throw a tarp over it when I'm done. I need to strike while the iron is hot.
I think my favorite Seinfeld is the Soup ****. I was a big fan of the show the whole time it was on, but was disappointed in the finale. Now, years later I think it was brilliant.
The sleeping in was a success. Although, Tiger got up at 4 and again at 730. At 730 he went out on the porch and wanted to come right back in. I chased him downstairs with the broom. I said you get me out of bed for this? Nope, you're going out. Then we went back to bed until after 9.
Okay! Gonna get ready and go to the hardware store. You know what I wish we still had, gunnite. Have a good weekend everyone.
Mike - They sell both Gunite & Shotcrete you just need to know where to buy them. I've never seen it for sale at my local Lowe's Home Improvement. I can get both at two different places: (1) We have two concrete yards which sell both. You need to call ahead of time to request either Gunite or Shotcrete; and, (2) We have a brick, masonry, concrete block, stone veneers, cut rock, flagstone, sand & gravel yard here which sell both. Ours is named Adams Products, they are a subsidiary of Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company. You have to call ahead of time, also. You probably have an Oldcastle or Adams APG in Atlanta.
Norm that's good to know. I thought Gunite went the way of the dodo bird. I've always thought it would be nice to shoot the outside of the seawall with Gunite once it's all repaired and filled in with concrete, but that's an expense I wouldn't do, really, since I'd never see it. And once I'm finally done with that POS, I don't care if it falls in. I read about Gunite when the city of Tulsa was going to dig up their Plymouth time capsule. They dug a big hole and coated it with Gunite, and said the car would be a pristine original when it was unearthed 50 years later. It wasn't.
I'm pleased with the afternoon's activities. I went and got one bag of mortar and got two courses of block put down in the old steps' opening. I've got several bags of cement mix in the blue van that have been there for months. I'll probably have to break them all apart but they should mix up good enough to fill the block. I'll do that another time. I can do it anytime, actually, because now the water shouldn't be able to get in past the block and I can work from the yard side.
Hope the party is a success today Dream. That little guy just looks like a bundle of energy. Lucky fella you are.
Okay gonna relax for the evening, since I'm pretty beat anyway. Feels like a Starsky and Hutch night. Have a good evening everyone.

Slantflat - The party was fun. Little man had a big time! They're so cute at that age. We BBQ'ed and had a few cold ones. A good time was had by all!
No real plans for tomorrow, it's supposed to rain most of the day. I haven't been out on my motorcycle for almost two weeks which is really unusual for me. Itching to get out for a ride, but that ain't happening tomorrow. Well I hope everyone had a great day, and an even better tomorrow!
Hey Guys - Thought I'd leave you tonight with another pic that will hopefully make you smile. My wife just snapped this pic of our male bulldog Monty, assuming his "it's time for my treat" pose. His eyes will rip your heart out!
Cloudy, good day for traveling. Headed out in a few minutes to go see that Cutlass. I don't really need another Cutlass, but I feel that if I don't buy it, someone will come along and lowball the hell out of him, and then pull the fenders off and scrap the rest of the car. I can't have that. Of course, I'm going to lowball the hell out of him but the difference is I'm going to keep it intact. I was going to take Tiger but I don't know where I'll be able to park, and I can't leave the truck running with the AC on when I'm not there.
Norm I'm the mixer. I use a wheel barrow that's older than I am and a garden shovel, which is also older than I am. I grab a bucket and dip water out of the lake. The only trouble is it's a long way from the driveway to the lake, and there's a big light post half way blocking my using anything to get supplies to the lake. So I have to carry everything to the half way point. Not always fun.
Well wish me luck. If the guy won't budge on his ridiculously high price for a non-running 4 door sedan, I'll come home with an empty trailer. Wouldn't be the first time.
Monty says to tell Red thanks, those are one of his favorites! I don't think he's too worried about where his next treat is coming from though. The way my wife buys stuff in bulk for the dogs we're more likely to run out of food for us than them!

Have a good day everyone. Here I go.
slantflat - Here's wishing you luck, hope you get it for a steal!
Goodmorning everyone,
Yahoooooo, they've taken rain out of the forecast for our area today! Now it's supposed to be partly sunny and a high of 80. Looks like I'll get out for that motorcycle ride I've been itching for.
"Get your motor runnin . . . Get out on the highway!"
Everyone have a great day!
Hi guys - Well I finally got out for a ride on one of my bikes. Absolutely beautiful day for a ride. Only rode locally for a couple hours, but it did wonders for my mental state. There's just something about riding that relieves stress for me.
I'm anxious to hear how Slantflat's car deal went, I hope he was able to get his car for a reasonable price. I hope everyone has a great evening!

Now, was there any doubt, really, I'd come home empty handed? Went and saw the car. It wasn't as nice as I thought it would be but it still was okay. No rust at all, everything there. I lowballed the hell out of the guy, thinking he'd say no, but he said he'd take that just to get it out of his garage. He had his two grandsons there, 20 somethings, and they pushed the car up on the trailer like it was nothing. I said, next car I buy I'm calling you! So he's got the Protecto Plate, the original pre sale checklist, and get this, two copies of the build sheet! Yep, New Jersey car. Still, I had never seen one in person. It isn't quite as dolled up as my other two, it has drum brakes up front and no light group. But it does have deluxe wheel covers. I've got the window sticker I need to have a good look at it. So, when I got home I parked the whole rig at the shop and I'll mess with it later. Started raining just as I walked in the door.
Dream glad you got out on the bike. It's nice to just clear your head once in a while. I don't usually take the time for a mindless drive, but I really should. I might forget to come back.
Okay past bed time. No telling what work will bring in the morning. Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

Slantflat - Congrats on the purchase! Even though the car wasn't quite as nice as you had thought, it sounds like there were a few nice surprises, including the price, that helped seal the deal. I'm happy for you!
Falling behind here a little bit. Got to agree on the ending of The Bob Newhart show, a good one, I watched the whole series. Mike, What year is your new Cutlass? Color? Saw a Amphi car on a trailer Sunday afternoon on my way to work. Bright blue with some kind of signage on the side of it. very nice condition.
Good afternoon folks,
Slow day today for me. No real plans and rain outside that's supposed to last all day. We also have rain in the forecast on and off through Wednesday. Scheduled for my annual physical tomorrow morning and not too excited about going. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but I really don't like the idea of being at the doctor's office with the Covid business going on. They're doing everything they can to keep you isolated, like staying in your car till they're ready for you, but there is still a stress factor for me.
I'm hoping Slantflat has time to post some pics of his car this evening! I hope the rest of you are having a great day!

Jamesbo I've posted pictures of the hangar before. I'll get a new one next time I'm over there. I was going to take a picture of the car today but it's raining. And the Awful house, looks like the million and a half other ones. I'll get a picture of that, too.
Work. I wasn't "helping out" in inspection today, I was assigned for the whole week. At least I'm working with a better guy. Someone came in today whose live-in adult daughter tested positive for the virus. He said, I tested negative last week and I feel fine today. Uh, six people as well as the lead got sent home because they were in close proximity to him. The guy will be home probably until further notice. He's gonna be in big trouble, 7 guys getting sent home. Some outfit came in and put up "Level 1 Cleaning" signs in his work area. Maybe the place will be sparkling when we come in tomorrow. Sheesh.
So I was perusing the paperwork I got with the car yesterday, and it says it has disc brakes. Hm. It has the wrong master cylinder on it. They still work, though. Until I get back over there, picture if you will, a 1970 Cutlass Oldsmobile, in faded Alpine Green and missing a hubcap... I will say this, as easily as I was able to lowball the guy, I'm quite positive that someone else could have come in, lowball him as well and then the car would be no more, due to giving up its fenders for someone's failed W30 clone.
Dream I find it rather annoying that you go to the doctor and have to wait in the car. I can't decide if the health care industry really thinks this is all necessary or if they all do it because no one wants to be the first ones to go against the grain. Good luck with the physical.
Dan are you anywhere near Holland, MI? There's a couple cars in Holland. The annual Amphi shindig was cancelled this year because most of the people are old and have to be careful, yet a lot of the would-be attendees went up to Put-In-Bay for another guy's get together. So much for being careful.
Well, Monday is over. The pressure is off. Hope everyone has a good evening.
Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike - You ever been to Holland, MI? You probably have been there. I think it's a nice area. I like that entire area from Holland North to Leland. I wonder what Tiger would do if you played the New Guinea Singing Dogs. The sounds remind me of a horror movie and I'd expect Vincent Price to be in the movie.

I read that to the wife and her reaction was "How stupid are some people?" I think that sums it up. Hopefully he didn't infect anyone.
